I have a cage of 2 girls (Gorda and Monkey) and a cage of 2 boys (Loki and Thor) now that Loki and Thor are 1month post neuter I tried this morning at 8am to introduce Thor to Gorda. He grabbed at her, chased her and balled up. I wore gloves, gave them a small break and tried again, same thing happened except poor Gorda got away from him and ran to me desperately trying to hide. Any suggestions? should I try again? Sofie

Did you swap their stuff yet? What about putting their cages in the same room?

You can't put the cages together as they will try to grab at each other but the same room is fine as long as the cages are far enough apart that they can't touch each other.

I would move the cages close enough together that they can't reach out and grab each other. You could try again during the afternoon. Maybe they would be a little more tired then?

Maybe try them again at around 1pm, sometimes mine are still awake until 9am. Make sure they're really sleepy. Where did you introduce them? And quite often scuffles will happen. Mine balled up a bit when they were introduced, a few squabbles happened but nothing aggressive. That night I heard all kinds of funny noises, they seemed to squabble for ages. Then in the morning they were all cuddled in the same pouch.
I'm not saying just leave them together and they'll sort thigns out. They WILL be trying to determine ranking order lol, most gliders do. But don't panic too much as soon as they ball up. As long as no blood is drawn or no phyical injuries they should be ok. Just keep an eye on them when you try again x

Well just now as I was cleaning up one cage outside for a good wash down, I put the boys in the girls just recently used pouch and then put that pouch in a sturdy zip up pouch that has a strong screen. I then hung the boys up on the outside of the girls cage near their pouch. The girls popped up and appeared interested in the boys but again my one naughty boy started trying to bite through the screen at them. It is too tough and he couldn't but ahh not a great sign. I gave both sets some pineapple pieces and all finally settled down. They are quiet now, still hanging on opposite sides of the bars. I will put boy back inside their own cage but near girls for tonight. I am not feeling hopeful because of the biting attempts.

Do Loki and Thor get along great? Is one more dominant than the other? When intro'ing more than just simply a pair to each other I usually take the docile calm one out of the colony and introduce the two and let them live together for a couple days and as much as I feel bad if there is one single glider that refuses to join the colony due to whatever reasons usually ends up giving in after being alone for a week. They have little bit of squabbles but they're generally accepting of each other at the start and now I can't get them apart.
Definitely do it afternoon after they've been sleeping for at least 4 hours is when I've had the best luck.

Nyerky, I didn't know that, I thought it was important to start with the dominant ones from each cage. I washed down the tent for another try tomorrow. Thanks for the new info.

Plenty of people may not agree with my method of introducing but it's brought me luck in the past so just thought it may help you. Good luck!

Both sets are awake and very interested in eachother now that cages are 4 inches from eachother. Thor keeps occasionally grabbing towards one of the girls, he can't reach them, and makes an aggressive sound, stinker. The girls don't seem too worried they keep coming back and stick their noses out through the bars at him kinda like "bring it on little man!" he is 6mo, they are 1yr and 2yr old girls.
