Okay, I know that this may sound a little funny, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I have a friend that lives in California where sugar gliders aren't legal to buy. I heard though that if someone were to purchase a sugar glider *outside* of California, then were to bring it *back* to California, that this would be one way of getting around this law. Is this true? If so, I'd like to let my friend know. If not, then too bad, and I tried

I think it is illegal to OWN them in CA not just buy them or sell them. Not sure how to look up the law on it. Someone else might know that.

Also, if you did manage to sneak a glider into your home in CA, and for whatever reason it needed a vet (which they all WILL at some point), how will you find one to treat it?x

Wouldn't risk it....if it's ever discovered it will be confiscated and no doubt euthanized.

I wouldn't take the chance. By the same token, I think it's pretty stupid that they're illegal anywhere, but I'm not a lawmaker. I have too much common sense.

Thanks to every that responded. Well, I guess my friend can't have gliders then, unless he moves. He REALLY wants some too! Oh well, I'm glad that *I* don't live in a state that has such restrictions on owning such precious animals

Tell him to move to Texas. He can then adopt from LGRS. Lots of babies to choose from there, plus classes on how to care for em! Can't beat that!

I LOVE that RChurch!!!! He actually told me...just last night in fact...that he wants to *move* from California. Not just because he wants to own sugar gliders, but because he feels the need for change...
