I use filtered raw honey all the time from local bee keepers.

there is usually bacteria in raw unfiltered honey like Clostridium. So use caution with raw honey. IF the cap pops off from gasses being created in the jar then this is a huge sign of contamination. Though high concentrations are uncommon, it still has some potential for harm to note.
