I just realized after 5 months, im severely allergic to my baby. I get red bumbs, rashes and it REALLY itches just when i touch her. I cant get rid of her so i dont know what to do?

Keep her nails trimmed or else little waste particles are getting into your skin. You can also try topical Benadryl.

Lilly what do you mean when you touch her? You literally can't touch her or you cant let her climb on you?

I have the same problem when mine scratches me. What I do is keep a bottle of hand sanitizer right by her cage and as soon as I'm done handling her I rub that all over when she walked. I let that dry for a few minutes and then I go wash my hands and arms really good with soap. Add a topical cream afterwards and that should stop the reaction. Wearing long sleeves may also help. I find that I only have a reaction if I get scratched. I have super sensitive skin though and my dogs have caused a similar reaction if they scratch me enough.

There are some people who are allergic only when the glider touches them - ie: nails. There are others who are allergic when they touch their glider. It can get really serious, and sadly, rehoming is the only option there.

Im allergic to just about everything but surprisingly not to my glider, not his nails or his fur its amazing. I am however allergic to both my cats, my rat and my mouse but I love them none the less. Try washing your hands really well with antibacterial soap after handling your little ones, if you have a really bad reaction try benedryl it will make you tired though

I break out in a terrible rash anytime my glider's nails get long and they scratch my skin when they climb on me. I take claratin daily to help and when the nails are nice and trimmed i don't have as much of a problem.
