In addition to having these fabulous creatures in my life, I have a friend who owns gliders, and she's a veterinarian. She lives over an hour away, but I know if my local vet wasn't able to help me, that I could call her and she would.

It's a great thing to have that kind of back up. My vet is 3 minutes from my front door and lives 7 minutes in the other direction from my front door so I have a great setup. Unfortunately that is not the case for lots of glider owners.

That is awesome! Lucky for me I have multiple emergency vets that are trained in exotic animals around me. (At least 3 within 30 minutes of my house.) And the woman I got my boys from provided me with the contact information for all of them before I ever brought them home. I never take that fact for granted when I see posts on here from people who are hour(s) away from one. Hopefully we will see more vets taking an interest in these amazing animals in the future so that good care will be readily available for anyone who has these little guys in their family. :)

My primary is about 10 minutes from my house, but doesn't offer emergency services. He can cover the basics, but he's not a glider expert. Matter of fact, the boiz have their 6 month check up next Saturday.

I also have several vets around me, within 10-30 mins away. The emergency ones are very pricey but id bring my babies there if i needed to. Its always good to check your surrounding areas and find all possible vet options.
