Okay I have everything ready, there food which I am making tomorrow (HPW), there cage with plenty of toys and very roomy! I have a few questions still though...

1. Should I give them both fruit and veggies everyday? OR can I give them a serving of fruits one day and then veggies the next?

2. How often should I give them gliderade and how often should I give them mealies?

3. Once I bring them home should I let them get acquainted with their new home for a few days or can I bring them home and have them with me in the pouch all day.

4. I am getting a boy (neutered I can NOT handle if they have a baby and something happens like it is rejected or eaten) and a girl. They are both around 8 weeks, or so the store says, so since I am getting them at the same time is their any need to seperate them or are they okay already?

5. Lastly, I have to go out of town to visit my boyfriend exactly one month and after I get them (maybe 28 days) and I am really worried that they will not be properly bounded and not love me when I get back:( I can not cancel the trip, I also can not take them on the plane will they be kay I have someone to take care of them(Another glider owner) but i am very stressed that they will not be bonded and forget me.

Sorry the questions are a little stupid but I'm super worried, thank you :)

1. yes fruits and veges every day is what most diets call for.
2. not to sure on this one. im sure someon will be along to answer it.
3. First day I got both sets i already had scented fleece on me so i put them in and carried them with me but put them in their cage before they woke and made sure their food was already there for them too. I did leave them in their cage all the next day and night to get settled.
4. Are they already in the same cage at the pet store? If they are then 1 cage is fine. If not I think you will have to do the whole intro thing. With them comming from the same place i am not sure if you still need to do quarintaine or not.
5. No they are not going to forget you while your gone. They won't be bonded by then. But if you are worried then scent some fleece and put in a ziplock bage for your friend to put in the cage while your gone. Or a shirt youhave worn in the cage for them.

1. I agree with skyfire both daily.
2. I never feed gliderade but some times will give a treat of apple juice, mealies they love and get a few every day, that's just what I do some feed more some less.
3. Every time I got babies I've had a long drive to get them so I wore them in a zippered pouch with an apple slice in it, then when I got them to the cage I put the pouch in the cage unzipped so they could go explore on their own, I talked to them but pretty much left them alone for the night. They are young so I would hold them everyday for a few hours in a pouch or in your shirt. If for a long day make sure you have some snacks to give them in the pouch.
4. at 8 weeks they are just babies so they are too young to have babies. I wouldn't quarintaine since they are coming from the same place just take them both for a fecal check.
5. I agree leave your old shirt in the cage.

All the answers to your questions so far sounds pretty consistent to what I've learned. I wanted to put some input about your trip.

Try wearing, sleeping with, or placing in clothes hamper some fleece items or other items mentioned for several days to a week prior to leaving (can be stored in plastic bag as suggested). This way they're scented of you.

Try to get as bonded with your babies best you can prior to trip.

If you have an experienced sugar glider owner watching them and you approve of their quality of care, then I suggest you relax and enjoy your trip. You will miss them, and they may even miss you a tiny bit, but they will get used to you when you return.

So don't worry, just make sure you left: your contact #, emergency vet #, and exotic vet # for your sitter incase of emergency. Your sitter will know what to watch for and what to do, trust and enjoy!

You said the boy is already neutered? At 8 weeks? I've never heard of anyone neutering them before 12 weeks....

I think she is getting her pets from a petshop - not sure how they could neuter that early myself. My vet told me minimum of 12 weeks to be sure the balls dropped.

Got both my boys from PP at 8wks. and they were neutered.

If you're not getting them until Friday I wouldn't mix up their HPW until closer to then...maybe Thursday so it's nice and fresh.

Many vets neuter healthy boys at 8 weeks. It is not at all unusual.

You've gotten some pretty good advice.

Though I tend to be wary of pet store gliders -- they often aren't cared for well, and it isn't unusual for several gliders to be housed together which can cause parasites to spread easily.

Are you sure the pet store you are buying from is on the up and up? I'm sure we all would hate for you to get a baby, and for it to be sick (or worse).

Make sure you take them to the vet ASAP for a well check, and to get a fecal float/smear.

Thank you everyone so much for your answers I am getting them from S&S Exotics in Houston Texas. They had the best price and they were very friendly actually I was shocked. I went to look at them one more time today and they let me pick out the male that I wanted. I held him and he NEVER crabbed, he even crawled up on my arm and decided to nest in my hair. He would NOT let go and it was the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Should I go ahead and call tomorrow and tell them not to neuter him and then once he is 12 weeks go to the vet to get him neutered? Thank you!

Yeah, S&S is bad juju. I remember reading somewhere that they NEUTER THEIR OWN MALES. They're not a vet.

I've heard a lot of people being told they have neutered males and they turn out to still be intact. I'm not sure how you can double check yourself on the neuter as 'pom-on' operations are quite common. If you'd rather wait and do it yourself then thats fine, it's just abit pricey sometimes.

A lot of vets near me wont neuter before 4/5 months. Some want the glider to weigh 100g first. I'm going to a vet 2hrs away who'll neuter my twins once they get to 12wk, but she wouldn't do it any younger because of the strength of the anaesthetic on such a small animal, and their balls need to be fully dropped first.

Neutering at 8 weeks isn't an uncommon practice here. The problem with S&S is that they neither THEIR OWN gliders. In house. By themselves. They aren't vets, and they don't have a vet do it.
