Totally normal. It is not normal while awake and with every breath. That is a sign of respiratory infection.

Both of mine make the popping/click noise while they are sleeping on me. I adore it when I hear it, it lets me know they are happy

We have twin boys. Daku makes the popping noise regularly, Ara is the crabber/talker. Daku also purrs/burbles/chirps, while Ara does not. These personality differences are the only way that we can tell them apart. If they are doing the twin game and switching behaviors, they do have us fooled.

All of ours make that popping sound while asleep and their cages are behind my recliner so in the afternoon and early evening it sounds like popcorn going off behind me. Like Kyro said, as long as they are not doing it while awake on every breath.

The clicking noise you are hearing is a noise they make when the are totally content and comfortable. My girls click all the time and if I touch them the clicking gets louder and progressive! It's the best sound in the world! Your doing something right.
