People go on vacation all the time. As long as you have someone you trust things should be fine. You may have some kissing up to do when you get back but after not seeing them for so long I'm sure it won't be an issue.

I'm gone for weekends ALL the time and usually for 2 weeks at some point during the year. I'll be gone for 10 days starting next Friday. They've been fine for 5 years and no, they don't forget you.
