My female glider is biting the pouch when the male is in the pouch with the joeys. She has not hurt the others but I am worried, why would she do this? This is not a pouch that has been in another gliders cage. She seems really crabby, she has never tried to bite me before and she has now started biting me and really holding on, drawing blood. She also seems very sexually aggressive towards him, holding onto his ears and rubbing on him. The joeys are 4 weeks out of pouch. I can't take the male out of the cage because he takes better care of the joeys than she does. If I get the male neutered will she stop this behavior?

Just a thought, but I'm wondering if she already has a new set of joeys on the way. That might explain her behavior. You should get him an appt. for the neuter - the joeys should be starting to become more independent in the next few weeks.

I was gonna say the same exact thing! She probably alread has joeys IP again and that's why she's acting like this.
I would definately stay on top of this because if she's feeling like she can't support all of the joeys she could start cannabalizing. She needs to be getting additional protein to produce enough milk for them all.
