You should scent swap before intros, just not before quarantine is up because if on the second round of fecals they show a parasite or something, you have just cross-contaminated them and essentially defeated the purpose of quarantine

and would have to treat them all.
When you scent swap, sometimes they're really curious about it, rub themselves on it, etc. If they pick it up and throw it out of the pouch or crab at it, they're probably not quite ready.
Generally gliders really don't like tubs - the surface is hard to grab onto, but that is why it works great for intros. They can focus on just wanting to cuddle up in a pouch and go back to sleep!
