Ok, so since we have a 4 dude colony now, we are going to build a bigger cage. They are currently in a pvc thats 3 x 2.5 x 5. We want one thats 6.5 tall so we can get in it when we clean it and move things around. It will still fit through the door, we checked. I know we are building it with 2 doors on the front that completely open. I hate trying to shove my arms in the small cage through the small door. The current pvc has whole front doors like that. But the bottom bothers me, we need to tweek that.
For those of you that built your own, if you could change anything about them, tweek them a bit, what would you change?
Maybe a little door somewhere for the times you need access to the cage without the gliders being free to jump out. I have 5 in a large cage like yours and it's often hard getting in and out with food without them escaping

here is my PVC cage. it has 2 doors on the front that open the whole front of the cage. be careful about adding to many doors. more doors means more places for them to escape from or for you to forget to close that door. i would probably make the shelf bigger but im sure that space will be taken up by hanging things sooner or later and i would need that space. im just adding another shelf in the cage later. there are more pictures in my thread. good luck with the cage and make sure you buy a steam cleaner to help clean the cage.
