If anyone here has recent scientic data concerning the measurements (varying?) of oxalic acid in soy protein isolate, whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate I would appreciate having it posted here.
A number of sources state soy protein isolate powder contains one of the highest levels of oxalic acid of any food, but I am also seeing in my research there are some companies (such as NOW Brand) who claim "the soybeans used to produce [our soy] products contain naturally occurring oxalic acid, but the levels are extremely low." Can someone point me to a reputable source that explains this better?
From what I can find so far, whey protein's oxalic acid levels are considered low and are also effected by manufacturing processes.
If you are stumped on a particular manufacturer's ingredients, you can write a note to them and just ask them. We had to do that with the Passwell company who makes HPW powder at one point.
