My gliders love chicken, but don't seem to like eggs much. I offer them either hard boiled (mashed or cut into pieces), or scrambled (either plain or with a little cottage cheese). Any ideas on what I could add to make the eggs more palatable?

I feed Reep's Wombaroo Diet. There is a Gliderpedia page on it under nutrition. It has High Protein Wombaroo Supplement, Gerber Mixed Baby Cereal, 100% pure organic apple juice, and scrambled eggs (or chicken baby food). Luna LOOOOOVES it, and she seems to like it more with the egg. Maybe it's the apple juice that makes her like it? She really likes apples, and I bet the juice makes everything sweet (that and the meal worms are the two things I feed, which I am not interested in tasting myself). Maybe put something sweet (honey, agave nectar) on her eggs. Gliders are picky though, sometimes they just don't like certain foods for no reason.

Thanks for the responses. I assume the avocado gets mashed in when serving, and the apple juice or honey gets mixed in when scrambling?

I've soft boiled an egg for mine before. In shell, then take off the shell and the white off the top and leave a little spot where the runny yolk is showing. It was a hit :-)

no, the apple juice and honey are part of the recipe for the Reeps Wombaroo diet

Read the complete directions here: (2 recipes one with chicken, one with eggs)

You may want to look into diets that include eggs as part of the Staple mixture, rather than trying to just feed eggs or chicken.

the various staple mix recipes provide the protein but also the vitamins and calcium needed by gliders in appropriate amounts. Each recipe is part of a feeding plan. BML has specific fruits and vegetables to be used. Other diets include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

I have links to most of the feeding plans used by experienced glider owners on my web page.

My own feeding plan can be found on my web page as well.
