i was just wondering how i would know if my glider is bonded to me? I have had my glider for about 3 months now and i play with him every day but when i pick him up all he tries to do is go back where he was or run up my arm he never likes to sit still in my hands.

I guess you never really know for sure.

One day he'll be exploring, and something will startle him and ... instead of running and hiding .... he'll run to you for safety. That's usually a good sign that he's bonding well.

....not to mention, gliders rarely sit still, especially at night when they are wide awake.

Depending on personality, some of us have some that will allow us to pet them as they sit for a few minutes. Mine won't sit still in my hand but a few of them will sit on my shoulder, or hide in my shirt in the crook of my neck and allow me to pet them.

So basically I wouldn't use the "sitting still" thing as a gauge of your bonding, but more like Alden said...they will seek you out for comfort and safety. That's a good sign & a wonderful feeling!

Don't feel bad, I've had my girls just almost 4 months now, and they've come a long way. They still are skittish at times and when they do run out onto me, it's usually straight to my back. Occasionally one or the other (usually Skadoosh, but sometimes Lulu lately) will come around to the front and be still long enough for me to get a little pet on them.

Ya I've had my female for a month and I adopted her at the age of two,she will run down my arma nd go into my shirt,even nibble on my neck if I have scented lotion on,but it def helps to replace a shirt or something with your scent on it and put it in their cage or pouch!

I suppose when they jump to you when they are scared instead of away from you
