Chris R Glider 119 Posts you wont need the pedialyte as we are supplementing water (which is what it needs)..you normally dont add it in except at first (first feedings for a severly dehydrated joey are plain pedialyte) and since we are using such a dilute start...this will work... as you said he was jumping around I assume he is not severly dehydrated Chris R Glider 119 Posts you will however need the critter keeper and the heating pad (make sure its one that doesnt have the auto-shut off) and some fleece for it to snuggle into... Suz site tells you how to make the incubator Chris R Glider 119 Posts My walmart doesnt carry non-autoshutoff heating pads...but Walgreens did ;) Cthobby1999 Super Glider 205 Posts We have an auto off now, but I check it frequently. We will get another for the horse show. Thank you Chris!!!!! He lapped up. 3/4-1 teaspoon of dog milk replacer!!!! Chris R Glider 119 Posts That is good for now....you will need to stimulate him to potty... with warm water on a cotton ball (anything else is to harsh) gently wipe across his cloaca for 10-15 seconds... we will really need to keep an eye on urine concentrate (we want it clear and only slightly colored ) to dark means he is dehydrating on you and we need to up water to him inbetween feedings and the poop will tell you where we need to be formula wise...if its runny at all I want you to add in another tablespoon of water to his formula mix...if its to hard or he goes longer than a day without pooping, we need to decrease the water in his formula mix start with 1 tablespoon decrease... I am Chris Reihner on FB and check that more frequently for messages, If you friend request me (redhead from KC loving on a b&g macaw is my pic) I can also give you my home number and cell to use in case of emergency
Chris R Glider 119 Posts either but make sure to use it gently and get some cotton balls as soon as you can In an hour I want you to feed him a small amount of water , honey it if you have to... try to get 1/2 teaspoon at least into him...and I take it his eyes are still closed? Chris R Glider 119 Posts joeys that little are pretty uncoordinated... they dont have even strides until later... Chris R Glider 119 Posts we need to talk about getting your joey parents on one of the approved diets it seems... by nosing around I can pretty much tell you, momma didnt have enough "good stuff" (ie proper proteins/fats/calcium) to be able to properly produce milk for these babies... Cthobby1999 Super Glider 205 Posts Cthobby1999 Super Glider 205 Posts Ok. I will make up some BML for them. The top pic was his sister. The bottom pic is him. Chris R Glider 119 Posts someone more computer savvy please link over a list of safe fruits and veggies to feed I use an original (but modified) hpw diet... I get the ingrediants here www.thepamperedglider.com the combo pack of high protein wambaroo powder 250 size and bee pollen is probably your cheapest/best option if you choose this diet can someone also link over lists of approved diets? Chris R Glider 119 Posts He actually looks pretty good...and do you have the vitamins for the bml? they are a vital part of that diet *site banned* SPAMMER FL, USA 87 Posts Here's a list of recommended fruits and vegetables... It also gives you the calcium to phosphorous ratio, which I've found to be quite helpful. Error, missing URL.

I also feed the original HPW and would highly recommend it - it's an excellent diet. Technically, I feed the Sweet Sugar Gliders Complete Diet (more information available on the above website). It's basically using the original HPW as the staple but they also have recommended fruits and vegetables mixtures which I use (to make sure I am feeding the proper ratio). That's what works for me, there are many excellent options available to you - just research!! =) Chris R Glider 119 Posts Thank you for linking Lauren jadesmith1979 Glider FL, USA 196 Posts Remember if you are going to feed the parents the BML diet you can only feed specific fruits and veggies to keep the CA:PH ratio correct and safe. corn, peas, green beans, carrots, cantaloupe, watermelon, apple, grapes, melon (honey dew), pitted cherries, blueberries (nothing canned or in syrup). these are the veggies & fruits to serve regularly (nightly) with the BML. other fruits and veggies can be given as treats or add-ins once in a while. firstly; i'm very sorry for the loss of the female and i hope your boy grows up to be big and strong secondly; yeah, as everyone's already said, i also think it'd be best to stop breeding this particular pair thirdly; awwww lookit the wittle baby cakes mommas gonna smush your cheeks yes she is aww wittle chubbawubba *ahem* sorry, had a moment there Cthobby1999 Super Glider 205 Posts His second feeding was not very successful and he didn't drink much. His stool was slightly runny so I added a little more water to the milk. The third feed I added more honey and he drank the most he has. He loved it. How do I know when he should be done? I've been waiting until he stops and won't take anymore. His next stool wasn't as runny, but it still was. I am adding more water now. He has urinated and it was clear. He seems to be doing great. Please pray for us both. Chris R Glider 119 Posts You are following instructions well....good job!!! yes, we need to get the diahrrea taken care of....so go ahead and just add the extra 3 tablesppons of extra water to the made formula ie 2 tablespoons of made formula as written PLUS extra 3 tablespoons of water...if you can get some infant anti-diahrreal medication (i use the walmart brand, I think it comes in cherry flavor?) you can put one or two drops into his formula mix (yes the big mix of 5 tablespoons now) so he is getting a little bit with each formula feeding...we want to stop the dihrrea but not get him impacted ...fine line LOL... PS Kelby, that made me laugh!!
