What!! I knew she was pregnant and the male just got neutered. Baby came out today. I did some research on them while she was pregnant and now that it came out i feel like i know NOTHING! HELP!

Mom seems to be doing great and is carrying around baby. I didn't even know baby came out. I set up the tent for tent time and took mama out of the pouch and all of a sudden a baby came out riding on mommas back! I'm not going to lie i freaked out a little! I put her back in the pouch and is in the cage. What do i need to know??

Breathe! Everything will be fine, especially if you've been doing your research. Just take a moment to clear your head and the knowledge will come back to you. Monitor the mommy and baby's vitals, make sure the food has been properly adjusted to care for the baby (which is something that matters a little more earlier in the pregnancy) and remember that animals do come equipped with the instincts to care for their young. If this is her first baby, you will need to watch more carefully because the chances of a rejected joey are higher, but keep track of everything and I'm sure you'll be fine!

I wish I could give you more info, but I don't have much experience with joeys myself. Good luck, though, and congrats! Babies are so exciting!

Luckily this isn't her first baby. The owner before me said they've had a bunch of babies and their great parents I'm still keeping a close eye though. But now I don't see the Joey? It went back into moms pouch. Fully. Is this ok?

That's normal, they'll pop in and out of pouch. I'm not sure how long to expect this to happen, but it's nothing to be concerned about

Thanks. I read that they'll do it for about a week. Until their too big to fit in the pouch.

Should I still take mom and dad out for tent time? I've only had them about 3 weeks so we're not very bonded. I'm worried about when I should start handling the baby.
