Hi everyone! I am new to the Sugar Glider scene. As I am sure you are all familiar with, I purchased my glider with PPP. His name is Kopa. And my girlfriend did as well, and hers is named Kalia. We currently don't live with each other and won't be for another year. When she moves in, we plan on them living together. However, as I have read it seems that they need a companion constantly. They have been introduced to each other and have been with each other several times and get along. Am I doing something wrong and do we both need to get two more to keep them content? I don't want this to be an issue.

Side note- we live thirty minutes away from one another.

Make sure you house them together once they have meant forever, not off and on. The constant departure of their friend WILL make them depressed, anxious, and sad. You will both end up with two very sad and not very playful gliders that will likely begin to overgroom [not a good thing!]. Keep these two gliders together from now on. What you can do is keep the cage at your house one month then hers the next but it is hard for gliders to acclimate so do not move the cages too often [like every night] as this will cause it's own issues.

So glad to see you have read about gliders needing their buddy, it is so true and the best thing you can do for them! Welcome and continuing asking questions because there is a lot of information on the web about them and not all of it is good [like the youtube "vet"].

Okay. I'm glad I did, I purchased him and notice he was rejecting the pellets that PPP offered and that just led me to researching everything about them and eventually found a vet hospital that recommended this website! I want only the best for my sugs!

Now I read somewhere that the "glider gravy" is the hpw instant mixture. My girlfriend purchased the extension, can we keep using that and follow the rest of the hpw mixture? we purchased the gliders seven weeks stating this up and coming Sunday. Also, since we have two separate cages, would it be smart to combine the two? we have to tools to do so.

Combining the cages would be great! Some cages work beautifully together, some may require a bit more engineering. Just make sure you have no gaps over 1/2". Use zip ties where necessary. They will be so happy! Permanent company AND a double wide ! Woohoo!

If your cages are the cages you bought from PP, you will need a much bigger one, even if you combine the 2. Glider cages need to be a MINIMUM of 3ft tall, the ones you get in the started kit from pocket pets are much smaller than that.

Well we were going to stack then, which will make it little less then four feet tall. But what I could do is combine them side by side and then add a mesh top held by PVC pipes!
