My female sugar glider is pregnent I didn't knew that since I bought her 2 months ago

Anyways they used to feed her apple and baby food in the pet shop I change her diet to HPW and fruits

I notice that she doesn't come out of her pouch in the last 2 days the whole day ! And she doesn't wanna eat

I took her out of her cage shes not bonded with me yet but she seemed careless and her eyes doesn't look good

She looks really tired unlike usual and ican see the joey moving inside her pouch

She didn't eat and im now feeding her as much asi can but she really look tired is the Joey killing her ?

I'm so worried I'm afraid that she might die !!!! There's no exotic vet in where I live so know one here really knows what a sugar glider is

If the joeys are close to being out, or just newly out, sometimes the mom will not leave the pouch much at all. This is where dad comes in to help bring her food and make sure that she is still eating. Since he's not around, she will need you to help her even more. Try to make sure she is hydrated, you can pinch a little bit of the skin on the back of her neck to see if it makes a "tent." If the skin does not go quickly back down, then she needs more fluids. If you are able to get a hold of something like pedialyte, you can give her that. I'm not sure what it would be called where you are, but it's a drink with electrolytes and minerals in it that you give to dehydrated babies. You can also try to encourage her to drink some apple juice, or flavor some water with honey to get her some fluids. It is possible that she is just lacking in nutrients from where she had been on such a poor diet before you got her, and nursing a joey is taking a lot out of her. Do your best to encourage her to eat and drink, and hopefully that will help perk her up.

I'm giving her some water now and some of her HPW

Do u recommend keeping her with me all the time just in case ? Is that normal that she doesn't eat and seems tired ? I don't wanna lose my girl & seeing her like this just breaks my heart

It breaks my heart for you too sweetheart, I know how much you love her. If she is comfortable with you holding her, that should be ok. Sometimes they will go through periods when they don't want to eat, but her seeming dull is what is concerning. Just keep trying to offer her fluids and the HPW, the protein and hydration are most important.

This happened with mine. She wouldn't come out and eat. Luckily I saw dad coming out to give her food. Something that worked for me is I moved their pouch to the bottom of the cage. And I bought a ferret home technically. It has 2 holes on the side and I put the water bottle near the 1st hole and her food next to the 2nd. She pops her head out and drinks and grabs food. I put out lots of her favorites and made sure they were easy for her to grab and pull it inside. I even threw a few peas into the pouch. She'll be okay. Get some meal worms and feed them to her. I'm sure she'll eat those! Lol

, after hand feeding her and changing her cage to another place she started jumping around in her cage and she kept running on her wheel like nothing happened , my biggest concern that she doesn't eat that much although I provide all kinds of fruits and vegetables plus boiled egg + HPW

I guess the problem was in the room temperature " too hot " because my other female has cracked fur and I know for sure the problem isn't In the diet

Thank you all , may God bless all of u for the helpful advices

A pregnant glider needs extra protien. The HPW should be made a certain way to increase the protien in it,or some plain boiled chicken. Maybe somone can post a link for pregnant glider care

We have been talking back and forth via PM, Dana is doing an excellent job taking care of her momma in a difficult situation. I'm hoping to hear that she is still feeling better today though.

Thank you all

She's not showing a much of improvements in her eating habits however I give her lots of watermelon because it's the only fruits she will eat and also it's rich with water so she won't become dehydrated

I'll keep posting And I'll try to hand feed her tonight in case she didn't eat
