Helen, since you are basically starting an entire new gene pool in the UK and need help with your genetics, I would strongly suggest that you look into finding a mentor who can help you guide your efforts in the right direction. If you are not a member it The Sweet Spot, that would be a good place to start. They have some excellent mentors there who can give you great one on one advice.

I asked a similar question once and basically this is the information I was told. The plat and Leu gene work together so the babies would have a chance to be either plat, leu, or gray with het(however you wouldnt know which gene passed until it was "proven")

You will not get Leu joeys unless BOTH parents carry a leu gene.

I believe the platinum might show up if the joeys inherit a plat gene and a leu gene, but I am not sure of that.

Keep in mind that 66% het for leu does not guarantee that the glider actually carries the leu gene. It is very possible that the only joeys a grey glider with less that 100% leu het will produce will be grey.

The 66% means their is a chance that the glider carries the gene. In reality, all hets are 50% - equal chance that they either have the gene or not.

Unless you pair the 66% leu het with a leu or another leu het and they actually produce a leu joey you will never know if it carries the gene.
