I have 4 gliders I got a set of sisters then a couple weeks ago I got twin brothers I was able to combine them in 1 cage quite easily but now they have paired of as boy girl couples they have done this faster than I expected and I don't have an appropriate cage for splitting them up my other cage is a rabbit cage and they can get out so what I was leading up to is if they have babies will the others hurt the joeys that aren't there's or do you think they will be ok

Split them up NOW before you have dead gliders on your hands. Forget about them hurting joeys (which they will), you will never get that far. 2 intact males with any females in the same cage will never work. Please please consider neutering your males and do MUCH more research on breeding. Marsupial reproduction is far more complicated than just throwing the opposite sex together.

Tigerlilly is dead on. Unneutered males will fight for breeding rights and dominance, even to the death.
Please get another cage and separate them asap. I'm sure you don't want to see them hurt and the vet bills will stack up quickly.

Hopefully these are all young gliders and the boys are not yet mature. They may have paired off for now, but it is just as likely that they will all sleep in the same pouch frequently.

If they are all under 4 months old, there is no need to separate them but you do need to get the boys neutered quickly if you want to keep them all together. They can live happily together, but the boys need to be neutered BEFORE they do fight over the girls.

If you are planning on allowing them to breed - you have a great deal of homework (READING, READING and More READING) to do. You will also definitely need a second cage so you can separate the pairs. We encourage new owners to have at least a year's experience caring for their gliders before jumping into breeding. This is especially important if you were not given a full lineage (family tree back at least 3 generations) for each of these gliders so you can verify that they are do not have any common ancestors. Even if you got the two sets of gliders from different breeders, it is still possible that they are genetically related and that brings a whole new set of problems to breeding and can result in loss of any joeys they do conceive.

In any event, All 4 gliders need to be seen for a well check up. This is especially important since you did not quarantine the boys when you brought them into your home before introducing them to the girls. If one of the gliders has any parasites, then you will be giving medications to all 4 of them since they are already sharing the cage.

For other new owners reading this thread - there are many of us here to answer your questions and help you be the best glider parents for your new little friends. Please ASK FIRST if you are not sure about things like quarantine, introductions, feeding, housing, and bonding with your gliders.
Read the information in the Gliderpedia for great tips with no waiting for replies to many of your questions.

Well, I should have read your previous posts and looked at your picture first.

You do need to separate the 2 males from both females NOW. They are mature males and need to be neutered before they can be housed with the girls.

You need either neuter or separate them BEFORE either girl goes into heat or you may be dealing with the boys fighting with each other, or just being very rough on the girl with BOTH of them trying to mate with her.

She stated in another post that they are around 3 years I believe, which is why I stressed urgency so strongly. Gliders are vicious fighters and this can go very badly very quickly.

Truly the best thing to do for them is to separate and have the males neutered, then they can live together as a pet-colony. Trio breeding is difficult, colony breeding is not really done in this country (well not openly anyway, there are too many risks and consequences). You have a great deal more to learn on breeding, so if it is something you would like to get into, please continue your research, perhaps find yourself a mentor who can help you one on one, and then look for a pair with compatible lineage.

I am very glad you ask about this!!! No good will come out of keeping these gliders together since the boys are intact.

You could split the couples or go with the original separation, but the males will start fighting each other. I hope you do the right thing.
