How much does vet visits usually cost? I know it's probably different depending on which vet you go to, but I was wondering what it costs for YOU. Just for an exam, no injuries or anything. Thanks!
Default, miscellaneous

As I recall, the visit/check-up was $40, the fecal smear or float $22. I'm in Michigan.

When Saffron was sick, each visit cost me about $200 for exam, tests, and medications.

Since she passed, and my others have gone in for routine check ups and fecals the cost has come way down.

I think the check up visit is about $40 per glider. The fecals were about $25 per glider.

Still, with four gliders, if I take them in all at once it would be a lot of money. Instead I plan to take just one in every three months--that way each one gets seen once a year and I'm getting some feedback on their condition every few months. My vet said this sounded like a pretty good plan.

Since they all live together, eat the same food and whatnot, I figure if I check one of them every three months and something shows up, they'll all be in for follow-ups.

Maybe someone who has done this a lot longer than I have will have more insight in the matter.

I have my first glider and his first wellness visit was $27 (I was led to believe all basic wellness visits would be the same cost). I am near Kalamazoo, MI, and the vet was at Texas Corners Animal Hospital (I added it to the database). They have an exotic pet vet there who has experience with gliders.

He didn't do any fecal testing, but the doctor held Richter, looked him over, felt him up, and we talked all about his diet, living conditions, etc.

I'm super new as a glider mom, so I hope this helps.

Cheers!

When I was calling around to vets in Salt Lake City, Utah, almost all vets charged $45 for a basic exam for sugar gliders, but the one I chose to go to for my gliders charges $55. The medicine I got for one of my gliders was a probiotic and that cost me about $20. A fecal smear was $40, and then a fecal float was another $40. That part I think is ridiculous because I know other places that do them for $15, but it was worth it at the time. Now when I need a float and smear I'll just send them to a company that does them kind of online for $18 because it will be cheaper and not as immediately necessary.

When Jak had an abscess it was around $150

I've called two vets in the Tulsa area, and they both want around $80 for the wellness exam with fecal.

40-120 depending which vet I choose and how bad of an emergency. My vet is an hour and a half away but the one here close is more pricey but close in case of an immediate emergency!

We have only gone once with two well cared for ones back in Feb. It was $17 each with no fecal test.

We are going tomorrow with three more that were in less than desirable conditions before the rescue. I am asking for fecal tests. I will post the cost of that tomorrow.
