Ive had my new ball of fire for about a little over a week now and she's already scared me out of my wits! I was letting her run around the living room the other night while we watched tv when I noticed that she was on top of the fish tank... I noticed the other day that there was a hole back by the filter but I thought the water level was high enough for her to realize it was wet but apparently not! As soon as i realized she was up there I leaned over to turn on the lamp so i could keep a better eye on her and when i turned back around she was swimming in the top of the tank! I didn't realized they could swim so well! I ran over and opened the top and she jumped right out, crabbed at me something fierce and run away.
I should've had the hole covered to begin with, I know, but I'm just glad she's ok
Other than that not much progress has been made bonding wise, I've been holding her in my sports bra for a few hours a day, but I probably havent been spending nearly enough time with her to establish any type of bond though :/ I think its been a bit stagnate, if not two steps backwards even. The first night we got her and let her explore she was all over the couch and the curtains beside us but now it seems like she wont come near us. We open her cage to let her come out when shes ready but now it seems like she stays as far away from us as possible. Sigh.
phew - glad she's ok!! For bonding, get a small pop up tent. It will be a much safer place for her to play, and it will force her to interact with you:)
One thing about gliders, their FAVORITE game is chase. Once they get a little bonded, they will chase back some. I have been told gliders don't swim, but about all God's critters swim at least a little.
