We were having play time and I went to get mom and thought they were together and daddy wasn't anywhere to be found. I've looked everywhere. He must be asleep because I can't hear his nails on the hardwood anymore. He can't get out of my bedroom...

I put out some food and turned the lights off and he came out. He was in the pocket of a snuggie that I had picked up, look at, dropped in the floor, and then tossed back in the chair.

I didn't expect him to be in the pocket, I expected that when I picked it up he would come out or crab.

Can we turn this into a thread about what I could have done if I hadn't found him?

Thank goodness you found him! That is so scary, there is so much trouble they can get into!

Thank goodness! From what I have read in the past, the getting treats and turning off the lights are two ways to lure them out of hiding. I've also heard of leaving out pouches (if you can't find them by morning) and hope that they'll crawl into it.

SURE!

  • Check your Snuggie pockets

  • Dont wash anything until found

  • Any machinery is a death trap for a sugar glider: fridge, dish washer, clothes washer, ...

  • Close toilet lids

  • They go into holes, orifices and openings, so have none available.

  • Cover any openings in the top of your fish tank

  • Cover sink drain openings

You know what I will start recommending? And this is because my hubby just did this. Put a red bulb in the light fixture in the room you last had them in. I know many already know this of course. Mine will come out and play in the red light. So very glad you found your little guy.
