I wanted to know who else is feeding the Australian Wombaroo Diet?

I started it Sat night after TGI's Spring Fling 2012 and they have eaten all of it both nights!

Originally I was on HPW using Sweet Sugar Glider's recipes for the fruits and veges but the Fab 5 usually didn't finish it-esp the girls, but so far with the AWD it's been great!

The first night I gave them oranges & blueberries for the fruit and carrots and green beans as the vege. Last night was strawberries & green grapes (with the ends cut off) with snap peas, asparagus, and okra. Tonight I think I might try some sweet pepper for the vege and avacado or blackberries for the fruit-or maybe both since variety is key ;)

I'm interested in this diet. Where did they get the cookie? What about the Small Carnivore Food. Do you have instruction that you can email?

thank you kyro, I have seen this and been following any and all threads about this diet. I didn't think the Small Carnivore Food was going to be available till May. I was wondering where they got it at.

It isn't. This is on the link I posted "Note: Until this food item is available in the States, 1 tsp. of Yogurt (any flavour) should be substituted"

I have been wanting to give my babies some crickets but I'm scared they might have the toxic stuff caused from them being raised in bad bedding. Do ya'll know of a good reputiable place to get safe crickets?

I've been feeding this diet for a while - perhaps a little over a month?

My gliders really seem to love it. I do use an arrowroot cookie - I found some with lower iron on Amazon. My gliders like that, too!

So far everyone is doing great on this. I have 2 females with joeys IP. One of them always has tiny babies and she frequently cannibalizes (these are her last joeys - the male has already been neutered), so I'm very interested to see if she does better on this diet. One of my other females just had a LARGE healthy joey OOP. (and he's a cutie!) So far everyone is hanging on the cage bars at dinner time!

I feed mealworms, superworms and dubia roaches for now. I'll probably be getting silk worms to try those, and try some moths.

Silk worms are supposed to be higher in Calcium but they are more expensive than mealies. I bought some, and phoenix worms.... mine wouldn't really eat them. They don't seem to like the "sticky" feel of them on their paws.

Mala would only eat them if Kodah bit the head off first and he would only do that on occassion. They would try to bite them and then shake their heads as if they had a bitter taste or something that they didn't really care for.

I ended up feeding them to the wild birds.

Feeding bugs isn't "part of the diet" the way it is with some. But, it is recommended as a part of it - more for enrichment.
