I am still having an issue finding papaya, I contacted a local healthfood store and they have creamed papaya (with no other fruits added) would that work?

do u have a kroger or meijer or walmart? here in michigan they all sell them.

What is creamed papaya? Does it actually have cream in it? Anything else?

I have a kroger and a walmart, checked both and neither have it. The guy at walmart said he hasnt been shipped papaya in 3 weeks and isn't sure when they will have it, and in the canned stuff they have a papaya medely, papaya chunks in passion fruit syrup, and thats it they dont carry papaya nectar in stock.
The woman at the health food store read the label to me over the phone and it's papaya with some water added but that was all on the ingredients, she said she's pretty sure its whole papaya that was liquified instead of just the juice out it.

Ok thanks. i'm going to go tomorrow and actually look at it and make sure it's just papaya I've got everything else for suggie soup but this darned papaya has been a scavenger hunt!

Check the ethnic aisle at Walmart. They carry the Goya brand in a blue can.

I'm not sure our walmart has an ethnic aisle. I know when I asked 2 people in the grocery dept they told me they dont carry straight papaya, they said they have papaya pineapple, and papaya medley. And when I checked walmart.com it said i could order it but it isn't carried in my store. But I will check again because walmart is in the same town as the health food store :)

Yeah, I was just shocked walmart didn't have it. Last year I bought papayas there for fruit salad lol they were right next to the mangos, but now this year they don't even know when they will get them. *sigh* too bad I can't grow my own LOL

You don't have an aisle that has salsa and tortillas and orzo etc? It's usually where all the taco makings etc are. I asked a bunch of times only to be told that they don't carry it and stumbled on it in that aisle.

My Kroger has papaya nectar in the Nutritional area. I forgot the name brand, but it will be with the Knudsen juices.

ahh yeah we have those, but i looked for a good 20 mins and found nothing :( But I did go to the health food store and got a large bottle of creamed papaya, I read the bottle and all it is is papaya that has been liquified, no added water, or anything pure papaya. So first batch of LGRS suggie soup is made. Now I'm going to the store later to get fruits and veggies to make relish :)

and our ethic section is only about 4' long lol they dont have much variety.
