I was thinking about putting my little guy on the hpw diet and I was wondering if any of you guys have your gliders on that diet and also mix in supplements? I wanted to see about mixing in a calcium supplement and a vitamin supplement but I wasn't sure if it was necessary and how much you would put in each batch of hpw if it was ok.

My girls are on HPW (original), and no added supplements are needed. I have read on here somewhere that you can add 3/4 tsp of Now (brand) Calcium Carbonate to the batch so as not to worry so much with the ca/ph ratios. I don't know how many do this, I haven't yet, but think about doing it for next batch. I really haven't just made up my mind about it, so haven't gotten any. I just use variety of f/v combos, I try to lookout for the ca/ph ratio best I can, but my girls won't eat some of the f/v if they don't like it.

If the gliders are on HPW (which is an excellent diet), I dont think they'll be needing anything else.

No matter what diet you feed you must follow the directions of the diet as they are written. If it doesn't call for supplements do not add them. The approved diets are made to be balanced exactly as they are written.
