I have been gone from the forum for awhile. I had been taking care of my mom who had Alzheimer's, not an easy road to go down. I am now getting back to the things that are happy one of those things is being here. My babies are doing fine and getting more attention from mommy now that life is back to normal. I just wanted to say hi and it is great to be back.

Welcome back! You said your mom "had" Alzheimer's...Should I be saying sorry for your loss?  I've been there and that is the hardest.

Thanks, my mom passed on March 11. I have to keep reminding myself that she is much better now and not confused anymore.

Sorry for your loss :( my grandmother was diagnosed last month and I will be her caretaker.. Very horrible disease.. But now your mom is a beautiful angel with no worries :)

She was my best friend and a wonderful angel. I miss her so much and thank you for your kind words.

I am so sorry. My grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's the day after Christmas 2003 and my mom passed away from a stroke 2 years ago. So I know both the issues with Alzheimer's and the pain of losing a mom who was a best friend. My prayers are with you. It does get easier. Not quickly, but it does get easier. One day you just realize that you can breathe again. And then you realize that you haven't cried for 2 days. It does get better.

Welcome back..I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom, but I'm also glad that You have a positive attitude..My Mom passed from cancer, not too long ago, and I, like You am comforted that she is in a much better place, and watches over us.
Cool how those lil fuzzbutts help us remember how to smile..Sweet lil' clowns.

I am so sorry. I went through the same thing except it started when I was 16 and passed when I was 20. Scariest thing ever when your mom can't remember who you are.

Also remind yourself that even though she was confused, a part of her new she was so loved. I know we don't know each other, but I felt I had to say that, it's important to believe that.

Your words are very comforting to me. We are a close family and I feel that says a lot about what kind of mother she was. I know that the pain will get better but right now I feel like a part of my body is missing. Thank you all.

So sorry to hear of your loss, I lost my great grandmother to alzheimers back in 2003. You are right that she is in a much better place now, but I know that doesn't ease the pain that you feel with her passing. Hang in there *hugs*
And I'm sure your little suggies can give you love and comfort :)

I am very sorry for your loss. It is so hard when you have to care for your ailing parents. I was caregiver to both of mine before they passed.
May you find comfort in your memories of her before she was ill.
