I have had my babies on the HPW diet for about 2 months now. In the past couple of weeks or so, I've noticed that they aren't eating the HPW as good as they were before. I have been thinking about either blending some fruits/veggies and pouring it over the hpw, or just mixing their fruits and veggies into the HPW. Does anyone feed this way? I have read that some gliders like their food all mixed up like that, so I thought I may try that before I give up on HPW.
The things I have on hand are oranges, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, peas, carrots, corn, kale, pears, bananas & sweet potato. They love all of those, except I haven't tried the kale with them yet, going to do that tonight.
Thanks for any advice!

Mine won't eat Kale plain. I have to blend it up...then they eat it.
I know I was told in the beginning by Peggy that she doesn't want people mixing f/v directly into any of the HPW's when mixing up the batch, but when you are thawing it for dinner, you can blend their f/v up and then mix it in with the HPW.
It's worth a try. Good Luck!

I'm gonna try the kale out tonight, might offer a bit blended and offer some as it is, too. Just made a fresh batch of HPW over the weekend, but I didn't mix anything into it. I figured I would blend their fruits and vegetables tonight, or just mix them up in the same dish. Still debating if I should blend it all up or just put them all in the same dish.

Yep, that's the thing of it. You try it one way and hope they like it. If they don't then you try something else the next, repeat....
In the meantime you stress each evening they don't eat.
Maybe make up a few different dishes. HPW base then blend some Kale and mix it in, then leave some plain and offer the kale on the side. I tried putting it between the bars hoping that would entice them to forage. It might work for yours...mine didn't fall for it.

I decided to blend some kale with some berries, going to offer it on top of their hpw tonight. Going to do a little fresh kale on the side too. I just hope they eat!

Corn is really high in phosphorous. You might not want to feed them too much of it. Or at least balance the corn out with fruits and veggies that are high in calcium.

I only feed corn about once a week or so. But I blended some kale, melon, & assorted berries to top their HPW, they loved it. I only made a small amount but I froze it & have been feeding it with their HPW, along with some fresh fruits & veggies. :)

There is no law or absolute about feeding gliders. I use BML. I add chicken, eggs, ground meat once in a while, shrimp, apple sause, and other things from time to time, to their diet. Some times I mix it all up and other times I keep it separate. I don't know about you but I can't eat the same thing day in and day out. So I mix it up for them.

I have been offering them a variety as well, and they seem to love it! They eat so much better now! :)
