This is the saddest thing I've ever seen. Look at these two poor babies in this tiny cage not even fit for a gerbil!! Look at the coat on the poor one on the floor. If I had the time and money....I would so pick them up. =(

When someone "supports" their asking price by offering what they go for new, they're an idiot. So yeah, gliders in a sad existence. Nothing new.
By the way, I am collecting photos such as this for future education materials. So when you come across gliders in abhorable conditions, save the photos! It may help educate someone in the future.

That cage setup IS FOR a Gerbil, Hamster, or Mouse. These people obviously don't comprehend the type of animal they own. IDIOTS!

The owner posted another ad saying she sold one has one left. So she separated the poor babies. I'm considering adopting the other one so atleast it goes to a knowledgable home..

NTM the price listed was PP price. They need love and care. If you're close enough to get him(her) go for it. And feel free to let loose some of the vilest verbal abuse you can at him, you might also take the police. That is animal cruelty.

That is seriously so sad. Those people need to be locked up in a teeny tiny cage themselves.

Oh yes, if there is a way to report them I would, not even PP sells habitats such as that for the gliders they sell. Hopefully someone can help this poor glider. Also, I don't know the one that was already purchased would be any better off, being the person only bought one, and was not considering the fact separating them would be cruel. My heart and prayers go out to them.
Awwe, they try to sleep in feed cups, not even close to the comfort they deserve!

She refuses to lower the price. She is selling the remaining one for $200 and will not negotiate

I'll pray that nobody pays the whole $200 and she emails/calls you with a lower price. I would much rather see that baby go to you then with somebody that knows nothing.

I totally understand that reaction, I feel that way about the news, but I got my 2 girls from a family advertising on CL. They had a very appropriate cage, wheel, and the girls were on a balanced diet of protein, vegetables & fruit w/needed supplements. I did feel however, that they didn't have adequate sleep options (only 1 small pouch), or toys (1 decent wheel & 2 jingle balls). They were fairly fortunate gliders, and I was fortunate to come across them on CL. I have seen several ads on CL where the gliders are in very decent environments and have knowledgeable and caring owners re-homing them because they can't continue to give adequate care and they are very choosey as to who they are adopting them out to.
However, there is the very saddening and distressing ads (like above), (I've seen mostly in links on forums), that do give CL a bad reputation. I have come to the conclusion, that it's best to search CL in your local area ONLY when prepared to rescue or re-home gliders, because of the distress it causes to feel helpless when you can't. It just so happened that I didn't see any ads at the time I was looking that were distressing, making my experience not so bad.

I can't stop going to that Ad and looking at those poor babies. It's breaking my heart. I hope she calls me back.

I only ever look in South Florida (where I live) Luckily not too many ads go on there for Sugar Gliders, when they do theyre mostly all from Miami. It is sooo heartbreaking.

Poor babies. I flagged but sadly, they'll end up at a pound or somewhere like that if nobody adopts them. I hate some people. Ignorance is not *bliss* in this case! Why did I look and read?

I know! These things make me feel so helpless!! It really makes me wish I were in a position to drop what I'm doing and go down there and track down the person who bought the 1 glider and get the other one, bring them back and take care of them myself. I don't have the means to do any of that, and it haunts me to think about them.

Good and Bad News Update.. the pair is atleast still together. I got confused because there were two different postings for 2 sugar gliders with the same exact description, but I guess the second seller just copied and pasted the others description? Who knows. Sadly, that is the only good news. The seller contacted me back and still will not negotiate. She wants $400 for the pair, no way I can afford that when I know they will need much vet attention, and a neuter for the male. Since I can't afford them, I told her the adequate living situation for a sugar glider and explained how her cedar/pine is toxic and the proper Excel Cage and dietary needs. I also explained that she should be careful who she sells to because they have a lot of special needs. Hopefully I get through to her and she doesn't just write me off. I really wish I could report her to someone =/

It makes me really angry when I come across people who want to trade something for their gliders. Oh yeah, let me trade these lives for some random electronic device! Blah, it just makes my skin crawl with disgust.

If I had one wish I think I would wish for all pet owners to be more educated about their animals so these things do not happen
