The breeders that I got my babies from sold them to us along with unbranded packs of HPW powder. They fed all their gliders on it and they are all healthy and thriving, including Robin and Rosie.
My mum ordered a pack of Bugsy HPW Complete as well just to try it out, and last night my sister mixed it all in with their 'normal' HPW powder.
The mix looks really caked together now, like flour, as opposed to the smooth appearance of their former powder. And when I mix the thing in water, it has the consistency (and the taste... Yes, I tasted it) of milk gone bad, like it can't mix in water. Leaving it for about 30 minutes and coming back, the powder sinks to the bottom of the cup I mix it in. That never happened with their old powder, even when it's left over night.
Robin (who usually pounces on anything that even remotely smells like food, fingers included) seems to dislike it, to the point of shaking it off his face instead of licking it off. But Rosie laps it up - I'm actually more worried for her than for Robin, since she kinda has a disregard of what's good for her (Robin won't eat spoiled food - Rosie does, and she suffered a short bout of indigestion and runny poo for it, but she's okay now).
I've tried pressing my mum to contact the breeders and get a new pack of their powder, but being the skeptic that she is, just told me to mix it in more proportions and to make sure that all the powder is mixed properly. She also said that it's a new taste and that's why they don't like it at first, but will eat it when they get hungry, but I disagree. My stomach's already feeling a little off from the taste sample (only a small drop from my pinky), I can't begin to imagine what it would taste like for them.
The question here is: am I worrying too much? Is it okay to mix different brands of HPW powder together, especially since it's the Bugsy HPW Complete powder? What is it supposed to look like anyway (before and after mixing, texture, taste??)
The way things work around my home, I'm the primary caretaker and my parents are the 'suppliers' of their essentials (food, Wodent Wheel, vet, etc.). Before I can get anything for my babies I have to convinve them first, and that's the hardest part about things. My mum is contented about whatever random piece of information that the breeders and stuff on the Internet tell her, and thinks that they don't need a vet checkup. My dad honestly couldn't care less.
In the meantime before I can get something for them, can you suggest an alternative? Blended chicken, boiled eggs, stuff like that... Should I try the BML diet instead, or anything similar to that?

Not sure what Bugsy HPW Complete is? Is that a different brand or just where you purchased it?

Yeah, I've never heard of "Bugsy" either. We use Paswells' Australian High Protein Wombaroo Supplement.

So, the breeders didn't have them on Bugy's? Id keep them on the HPW they were on. Why fix something that ain't broken? Is Bugy's cheaper? We haven't heard of it yet so I don't really know if it is so new that's why. I wouldn't even think about trying it until at least a year from production and it's been sold. I'm not saying it's a fraud or bad but that's me personally. Mom needs to realize these little creatures need to eat a known diet. Not just any diet will do. I'll look into this Bugsy's diet thing.

Wow, with the popularity is (sorta) has in Malaysia I thought Bugsy would be something more widely-known... 0_o
As to whether it's cheaper than the breeders' HPW - no, I don't believe it is. Mom bought it onnline (not sure how much that costs, in total with shipment and all) but I found one pack of it in a pet store and it costs considerably more than what the breeders are offering.
Bugsy also sells pellets and other foodstuffs as well. I think my mum got it from a website called ExoticNutrition.com.
Personally I agree with Omis n Kais g-ma. Why change what's doing just fine?
Today I plan on showing my mum just what the horrible thing looks like. )= I'd rather have money spent on things that can actually keep them alive and that they're used to, not new products just because it's cheaper/is more certified/stuff like that. She doesn't understand that any kind of change creates stress, and frankly I'd rather keep stress out of the food department..
She used to live with cats and we had rabbits when we were younger, so I think she believes she knows more than me about these guys, and pets in general. But she isn't the one sitting in the tent every night looking at suggie-related nutrition, enrichment, etc., anything to make their lives a little better... It's just plain hard to get her to listen to me, it's frustrating. Maybe she'll come around when I show her the mix.

Bugsy's is a brand sold in Malaysia and I do not think it is available in the US.
How did you mix the first HPW powder you had? Did you add water, honey, eggs & bee pollen?
It looks like the Bugsy's Complete has the bee pollen and powdered eggs in the powder so you need to add Honey and water.
I am not sure you can combine the two different powders because the mixing directions and ingredients to be added are different.
Which ever version you decide to use, follow the mixing directions on the package and add the ingredients it calls for.
Until you get more powder to make a batch, you can feed a scrambled or hard boiled egg or some boiled chicken (no seasonings added to either) along with fruits and vegetables.

That's the part I'm worried about. With the old mix, all we had to do was add water.
Thanks for the advice. I fed them boiled chicken once and they liked it, so I'll feed that to them tonight.
Update: my mum saw how little of the food supply we have left (the mix must have caked/compressed itself down overnight) and she ain't happy, but that convinced her to get more of the breeders' HPW!
And I was right: it's cheaper than Bugsy's..

Please just pick one or the other of these 2 diets. You cannot mix the 2 diets together. It will throw off all the numbers and your going to have an overdose of vitamins.
Bugsy's HPW Complete is actually Peggy's HPW Complete. Bugsy's has the right to use HPW Complete for their name because it is HPW Complete.
Also, you do not need to add honey to Bugsy's, since it is HPW Complete, it already has the dried honey in it. Just add water.

Update: Today the breeders' HPW came in through the mail, and they missed it! I had them on boiled chicked (chewed it up to make it easier for them) as a protein source, gave them their fruits and left pellets in since Robin prefers it over the chicken. Can't say they were too happy about the change, but it's a lot better than overdosing them..
I just made them some of the HPW and they literally jumped at it! Together they finished 3 bottlwcap-fuls, and now they're in their pouch, inside my hoodie's hood, purring away contentedly while they sleep. It's such a relief for both me and the suggies that the food finally arrived =D
