Gliders chew branches, strip bark off trees to get sap and naturally chew on many things in their natural environment.
Mine chew toys and their wheels, but spit out the bits of plastic. They have chewed holes in rubber duckies and stripped the soft rubbery parts off of the baby links.
They have untied and chewed rex lace to drop beads all over the floor of the cage. They also like to munch on the plastic monkeys and plastic bracelets I hang around the cage.
Gliders are natural chewers and I do not think they are going to choke on the toys I provide in the cages any more than they are going to choke on a piece of corn on their dinner plate.
I do inspect toys frequently and replace those that have been chewed to the point of my gliders getting their head into them (rubber ducky type toys) but I am not worried about choking.
