Mandy Glider MI, USA 111 Posts Oh my! *Imagines a glider approved diet... looks forward to the occasional jellybean* LOL I`m planning my next drawing out as we speak. Might try it in pencil crayon (my other love, in the way of a medium), but I haven`t decided yet. My pencil drawings usually take anywhere from three-four hours to complete, but the pencil crayon ones take a little longer. I push REALLY hard with the leads to create an almost sheen-like layer. It makes the blending of shades simpler plus, adds a certain degree of vibrancy to the image. *Runs off to find her pencil crayons* I don`t think I`ve unpacked those yet! LOL Mandy Glider MI, USA 111 Posts LOL - It`s almost done. I started it this morning at about 9am (it`s now... oh, 1pm) and I`d say I`m about half way finished. The toughest parts are done already (being the eyes and noses), but now that those are finished, the rest should come fairly quickly. hehe, It`s been a while since I broke out the old pencil crayons. Hope it doesn`t appear obvious in the final product! Will post it here as soon as it`s all done. =) Here`s a question though. Does anyone have a picture of an interesting pouch pattern I might use in my drawing? The focus is of two gliders, peeking out of a teepee style pouch. unfortunately, the pouch in question, is a hideous lime green - not so nice for a drawing. If anyone cares to pm or post a picture of a slightly nicer pattern/color for me to reference, I will keep checking in until I get the rest of the drawing done. If I haven`t seen anything by then, I`ll likely just make something up! =) Eric C Retired TX, USA 2322 Posts quote: Originally posted by dizzysmom

Absolutely one of themRita Glider Sprinkles MO, USA 12214 Posts Quilty as charged!!! Mandy Glider MI, USA 111 Posts You guys are cute! Heres the pencil crayon creation. Again, please be kind. It`s been nearly a year and a half since the last time I played around with this medium. Hope you enjoy! (P.S ended up going with the crudy green tee pee. I didn`t get your PM Eric, until after I`d already begun that portion of the image. Happily, I DID manage to make it less hideous in it`s 'lime-greeniness'! LOL)

I get a kick outta sharing, so this definitely works! ;) My husband was angry with the way this peice scanned. He says it took away from so much detail, as in the nose and eye area. With pencil crayon - sadly - most scans are never perfect and it always tends to loose a little something in it... but you get the general idea. =)

Kalie Joey 11 Posts Mandy, the pictures a breathtaking I haven't been on the forum in a while and I saw them and was amazed. Is there anyway I could get a copy of the first and third one posted? I'm willing to pay. Mandy Glider MI, USA 111 Posts Hey Kalie, Welcome back to the forum! Thank-you for the kind comments on my work! Sadly, no prints will ever be made of the first image (unless Rita decides to do so herself) as that image was sold to - you gussed it - Rita! ;) I DO however, have prints available of the second image you were inquiring about. In fact, here is a link to the thread where you may view the information on it! Hope to see you around often! Take care, my friend!!!! http://www.sugarglider.com/glidergossip/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12764
Mandy Glider MI, USA 111 Posts New image! Done for a member at GliderCentral for a possible t-shirt logo design. She liked the idea of him/her poking through leaves! Cheers!
