ok so i am going out of town this friday
to our cabin in port mansfield.
i am for sure taking the tent
cause i will have nothing to do over there
but to fish and read(no tv, cell phones! etc etc)
and i will have loads of time to play with
the girls. my main concern though is their
travel cage. i got it from my cousin when i
went to houston. he saw how it was such a pain
to try and stick Zoey's cage in the car and everything.
it barely fit! anyways he gave me this little hamster
cage that he had and i thought oh! its perfect for zoey!
then i got lily and roxy. just wondering if its big
enough for the three of them? i will be playing with/carrying them
all i can and avoid putting them in there until i absolutely
have to(when i'm falling asleep). i would just take one of
the large cages but i would have to take it all apart.
the thing is the cabin is on an island. its a 20 minute
boat ride and we're taking a four wheeler on the boat with us
if i absolutely have to and the travel cage is just too small
then i'll take apart a big cage

pictures;

thanks :)

yeah I would say that is too small... especially b/c when you are sleeping is when they want to play. You can easily go to a pet store and buy a reptarium! :) and those things are so easy to travel with.

hehe oh and ::throws a yellow crayon at SGold:: take that for neglecting to participate in the crayon eating. haha

a few yrs ago i didn't know any better when I had my first 2 and that was the cage they were in for about 10 months and the did fine, OH they love their huge cage now but I still put them in the smaller one of short trips, so I don't think a couple of days in the smaller cage will hurt them. Just get a new set of toys for them to explore on and use their pouch they have been sleeping in and use their normal water bottle becuase I noticed mine always go to the same water bottle and I have 2 side by side.

It may not be ideal, but it seems like they'd be OK for a few days. If you're taking the tent, just make sure they can be out and playing in it as much as possible while they're awake. It seems like if your choices are either having them in a small cage for a few nights or leaving them home in their large cage and hoping someone cares for them properly, the first choice sounds pretty good to me. I guess I think of it likes humans camping...you stay in a tent probaby smaller than your bedroom for a few days but you're out of it when you're awake and in it while you're asleep. You take along your essentials for those few days and most come out of it just fine! I say "most" because I HATE camping!

We have that same cage except it has one more level. We bought it because we moved from NC to FL..a 14 hr drive. So they were in it for about 2 days (we stopped and stayed the night at a hotel) They did great!
