i have a lil boy named toby and i need to seperate him soon from mom and sis til i can get him fixed. what i was wondering is would it be possible to put him and dad in a different cage? i am only thinking of this because i don't want him to be by himself if i can avoid it. mom and sis will be in another cage, but, mom and dad are a bonded pair. i feel very uncomfortable about seperating them, but(again),i fell very uncomfortable about toby being by himself. i can get him fixed for 180.00, i already have 100.00 saved up. i am just very unsure of what to do. any advice would be sooo greatly appreciated. thanks, christy

Have you checked with any other vets about their neuter prices? I know some are high, but mine was $80 or $85. Maybe there's another one. It would be a shame to separate them. Is dad neutered?

wow what state are you in?? I am in Florida and my neuter was $100.oo inc. pre op exam and go home pain med....Check around. Is dad fixed? How old is sister..If he is real young may not be of age to breed....I assume dad is fixed or he could get mom and sister preg ....

Do you have a second cage? Are you talking about a couple of weeks or a couple of months???? I would think if it is only for a couple of weeks may be ok as Mom would still have daughter's company...but it needs to be done ASAP.....PM Rach, Jett or KO..they are from Australia and it is daytime there...or check the chat room and see who is there...Good luck

well, that price includes a one time office fee of 50.00. i can take both of my joeys in at one time and still only pay 50.00 for both. it cost me 130.00 to fix buddy because i've already had him there before. i am in sc and my vet is about 10-15 min. away. the next closest one is in myrtle beach and charleston (3 1/2 hr. drive). i do have another cage i can use and mom will have sis to be with, i am keeping lil sassy(sis) and more than likely i'll keep toby as well. if i aged them right, the twins will be 4mo. old the 1st week of june. if it is possible to do this, i may need to do it in the next week or 2 just to be sure there is no breeding going on. i want to do this before the 1st because they could be a week or 2 older than what i think. i am hoping it will only take a couple of weeks to come up with the rest of the money.it will most certainly not be a permanent seperation. i, unfortunately have to save every penny i can get because my hubby does not like me to spend any extra money on any of my animals. he has gotten mad over the stuff i cook for them. i just tell him i want my animals to be healthy and be with me as long as possible. it's not my fault he doesn't feed his dogs steak!! you know how they say opposites attract? that is exactly what we are!!
