I was readind other posts and i read a response about diseases. Can a vet check your suggie for those diseases? I Have a seven month old daughter and a four year old daughter in your opinion is it a bad idea to have this pet around my children?

Suggies are no GREATER risk to kids than dogs, cats or hamsters, obviously as with all other animals hygiene procedures need to be followed as standard.

Just know the general health of all your pets, wash food before and after prep of food and handling animals. I don't think extra precautions are necessary.

I have a 16 month old daughter and 4 suggies. We've never had a problem. I keep their cages clean and keep her away from the cages. I don't let her hold them...but I don't think there is any risk as long as you keep your suggies updated with wellness exams and fecals.
