I was asking before if any of you had this cage and what you thought of it, well I have only had this cage 2 days now, and find it a pain in the rear!!! Didn’t fit through the front door so we had to take it apart, (was put together by the bird shop) also doesn’t fit through my sliding glass doors to my backyard, this cage is going to be a huge pain to clean every week, I could wipe it down but I don’t feel that will clean it very well like when I take the other cages out back and wash them down. I only paid $150 for it which was a heck of a deal since they sell for $350. I wouldn’t recommend this cage unless you have double doors or you have the patience to take it apart every time it needs to be washed.

Just put an old shower curtain down before you clean the cage(inside), it would help to have a shop-vac if your gonna clean the cage inside too. Just take out your gliders before you wash it.

That actually doesnt look to bad. It's really nice! Mine can't fit through the door either so I put fleece or newspaper in the trays to make that part easier to clean. Also, I saw someone talking about that glider kitchen. I'm about to invest in a couple of those. That will save on mess ALOT.

HI, I have this cage I have had mine about 6mo and i hate it. I take it apart every week take it out and clean it. It takes hours to do and it has started to rust on the bottom grates. My babies love it but i dont. I just built them a cage and will be selling the hex cage. Good luck with yours.

i like the idea of fleese...maybe put it on the walls too, on the inside, and then you just have to take them down and wash them in the washing machine and put them back up. i know i had to do that against my wall when i had a wire cage i'm sure it will work the same for the inside of the cage. i hope that helps.

Charlee, You could practically build the glider kitchen by yourself instead of paying $7 online. I just spent $2 on mine and cut a hole in it myself. It is pretty much the same thing :) Just thought I would give a suggestion.

Exel cages are on their way and should be listed again soon. I have asked Terry @ Exel to modify the cages in different ways. The newer models of the tower cages will be neat. They should extend all the way to the floor and have wheels directly on the cage, so more space and fewer accidents when moving. His next version of the tower cage will be 30x30 and hopefully 70+" tall which will be a HUGE increase in size per cage, plus, they will also have the option of connecting back to back to make a dbl wide cage. These will be usable for even larger animals such as maccaws and small primates.

And now to the point of this thread; the back to back cages will be quick disconnect and will be able to fit through a doorway individually for maintenance.

So, these will probably become my favorite cages in the near future.

Once the design is done, we may have to create a waiting list for them so he knows what to have built.

I went out last night and made my own glider kitchen. By the way only cost $1.00. Word of advice to owners who have babies that are not completely used to them yet. Do not startle them while they are in their kitchen eating. I felt bad, but I've never seen anything so funny in my life. It was like watch furry popcorn popping. They just kept jumping to get out and hitting their heads on the top. Don't worry they are ok.

but doesn't a kitchen take away from the enrichment of finding their food?
