I have a sugar glider but I don't know which games I can play with him and what he needs to have to play... I'm kinda worried that he'll get all bored... Please make some suggestions!

You could always get a piece of yarn and dangle it in front of him like a cat. I do that with mine and they seem to have fun with it!

I do the same thing with a feather teaser. It doesn't look so pretty after they play with it a few times, but they still love it. LOL Lots of us have the barrel of monkeys in their cage. I put mine all together every night and every morning, they are not only all over the cage, some make it across the room too. I'll find them in a pouch, in the wheel, everywhere...

Hi,

I bought a pair of cheap shoe strings and I run it in front of them and they LOVE it! It also seems to be a good way to entice them to come out of the pouch...

Our girls really enjoyed playing with a wooden dowel during play time in the bathroom. It was between 3 and 4 feet long. We would do all kinds of things with it. Hubby and I would each hold a side creating a bridge for them to scamper across. Or hold it like a cane with an end on the floor and they enjoyed running up the dowel to our hand. Or hold it out from your body with one hand on each end. Or extend it out to something or somewhere that they want to explore.

If I have a toothpick in my mouth I will open a cage and flail the toothpick around using my tongue and it gets a lot of interest. Someone always leaps up, grabs and yanks the whole thing from my mouth to bite and inspect it for a minute. They almost always give it back. Eight curious critters can hand off a toothpick between themselves rather quickly.

when i buy fleece there is always that long white bottom of the fabric that has all the disclaimer copy right junk on it...i trim it off and dangle in the cage with only the very end tied on...sometimes i don't tie it...the girls go nuts!! sometime they drag it into the pouch and sleep with it!!

i also 'crawl' my fingers towards Tate and she will go beserk and attack my fingers...i do it slowly so it don't scare her..YaLe hates it.

i tend to wear long sleeve flannel shirts in the tent...or a long sleeve t-shirt...thats to protect my arms..well Tate likes to crawl up and down the sleeves and poke out the end and check things out...there goes my arms!!

pretty much anything that looks like food and 'huntable'...Tate will attack it!

just experiment...its fun finding new things they like to do.

Enjoyed hearing your experiences. I bought straws because some of you have had a lot of success with them. Our girls just ignore them. Only tried it during play time though and just now put a container of them in the cage so will see if they play with them in there. Kazko, our girls did the same thing as yours did except with a q-tip. We would play with it in our fingers and they would immediately come over to check it out and would have wrestling match over who could hold it.

Our girls dont attack things really. Wish they did.

Mine love a crumpled up ball of paper and plastic cat toy balls that jingle. They also like to chase feathers and steal and rip up my straws! Especially ones with a little bit of soda still on them that they can lick off for a treat!

If you only have one glider I would suggest getting another one. She/He may get bored and depressed very quickly with no friend to play with all through the night. As for games, mine likes to play peek-a-boo. He runs around the couch and chases my fingers then hides again. I'm also looking at obtaining one of those long sticks with the feather or string on the end. From what others saay, that is a big hit.

Here is a fun game.Trying to do tent time with 5 gliders at one time. Its not the tent time that is the game, it's getting them from the cage over to the tent and back that turns into a game.

Catman that just cracks me up it is hard with 2 by myself and I couldnt imagine doing it with 5!

So with the straws should I drag them around to make them interested in them at play time? I just stuck them every where in the tent for them to pull out. Never thought of trying to make them catch them. Will have to try that.

Oh another thing we have done is to take a string in during play time and they will sorta play tug of war with us (we always let them win). They go hand over hand pulling the string. Very cute

Will have to try the crumpled up paper ball. Prdycool, do you do anything to get them to play with it and what do they actually do with it?
