Seems to me that someone needs to throw YOU a party. I know that you cant not be mom, but what a heck of an impact to absorb as a family. I think it's about time that you guys make plans to rent an rv and go visit something somewhere when school is on holiday; Family time instead of just Avis time. Sometimes it's so easy to lose focus on everybody and everything else.

I hope that SuperMom can get a break soon too.

Well we have good news. Her platelets are slowly coming back up. So she don't need to have platelets done. Avis was so excited about it when I told her the news. But they told me if her platelets are not up to 75 we can't go to Littleton on Thursday afternoon. So Thursday morning she gets anther CBC done. they told me if her platelets are low they won't be able to do her spinal tap or her shots in her legs. Chemo she can have though. So it is a waiting game to see if we go to Littleton on Thursday afternoon or not. I will let you all know what we find out. so if you hear hello from Littleton then you know we got to go. Praying everyday for you! I sent the box to Avery and Hannah today! Sorry about the inside of the box, that stuff is worse than Easter grass, but I thought she would love it! Let me know what she thinks, and Rita, thanks for the help with the shirt size!!

Well we are home from Denver and everything went good. Her counts are looking good too. We don't have to go back tell the 16th of next month then off for 2 months. Her back is sore from the spinal tap because they poke her 6 time's in the back because they couldn't get any fluid out of her back. She is take tynal for that pain but it should go away soon. We had a lond day today so I am going to head to bed and try to get some sleep. So talk to you all later.

Evelyn - Im so glad to hear things went well yesterday. Getting stuck with needles six times in the back would make anyone sore!!! I bet she is so glad that's over.

Well Avis had her CBC today her counts where good but one was 6.6 but since she don't have a headack or really tired they said she don't need to get any blood. She will have anther CBC on monday to see if that count went up on it's own. I will let you guys know what we find out on monday ok
She is doing really good and really hyper too. She is really talking my ear for the past few days lol. Well I got to run becouse my other 2 will be home soon from school.

Well Avis is doing really good. Her counts are comeing up by them selfs. She is doing the online schooling and really enjoying it alot. Oh her hair is comeing back and it is getting long too. I think it is going to be black. We go back to Denver next week on the 16th for her spinal tap and then we are home for 2 months. Some times I think she got in to lots of sugar becouse she is really hyper but I know she is feeling really good and I rather have that then any thing else lol. Well I got to run but I thought I let you all know how she is doing. I will chat with you all later but I got cookies in the over. So bye for now.

That's wonderful news!!!

Well Avis is doing really good. We go back to Denver on Thursday for her spinal tap on Friday. We had Hannah fixed and micro chiped on Friday the 9th. She is doing really good. Avis was a mess dureing the morning but was better when we got Hannah home at 1:30pm from vets. When I get up dated pics of Avis and Hannah together I will post them. But I wanted to up dated on how she was doing and when we head back to Denver. I will even let you know how the trip went in Denver too.

I've always wondered what a spinal tap is like. It sounds very scary. You should get Avis on here to describe the experience in your journal. Maybe she can make me more brave.

One of these times when you feel up to it, I'm only an hour away. Maybe my daughter and I could come meet you! (She's the same age) We go to Denver quite a bit for weekends from October-April for dance competitions. How long does it take you to drive there? Give her hugs for all of us!

Looks like an 8 hour trip for them. Yuk.

Well we are home. It was a long trip there and back but the weather was good though. Her blood counts was really good and I mean good. Her white blood count is 2.1 the normal for that is 4.0, Her Hgb ( that is whare blood carries oxygen to all the orgins) is 10.0 the normal is 12.0, and her Plt is 159 ( Plt is what stops you from bleeding) the normal for that 150 to 500. So Her counts was really good. Her spinal tap went good and they only had to poke her once in the back this time. Then she got the flu shot so did I (OUCH). She even had a MRI done today. That took an hour and half for that to get done. But in all she is doing good and happy to be home. Oh we are home for 2 months. We have to go back in December 11th but leave here on the 10th.

Avis would tell you what it like to get a spinal tap but they nock her out befor they do it so she don't rember any of the spinal taps but I can kinda tell you what they do. Well you would be in ball with your chin to your knees while they shove a needle in your back. On kids they put them out but us adults they do it while you are fully awake. I am in the room while they do the spinal tap on her and I am so glad they nock her out befor they do that. After they do a spinal tap you can get a really bad head ack so with her we was told to give mountain dew for a couple days after the spinal tap. Mountain Dew dose work for head acks so if you have a head ack next time drink a Mountain Dew. I tryed it and trust me it works really good.

Her spinal tap is at 9:30 and we usaly get done at the clinic about 11:30 or 12:00 so maybe we can do lunch befor we head back home. When I get your message I will call you and we can talk about it k.

Evelyn, I have soooooo much respect for you how well you handle all of this too. I am not sure I could sit and watch them do that to my little girl without losing it myself. Heck, I barely made it through their immunizations when they were little. I know that as a mother you do what you have to do in whatever situations come your way but WOW! You are definitely SUPER MOM in my book!

Kaz - I'm curious, did her description make you more or less brave?!?!? It made me cringe just reading it but then again I refused to have an epidural during my deliveries -- told them that the thought of a needle going in my back sounded MUCH WORSE than a baby coming out.

Well she is doing really good. Avis, her brother and sister and me got our H1N1 shot today.Well we didn't have a choice the Dr. told us we had to get it. The only one who didn't was my husband. he refuse to get it. So if he gets sick he will leave the house tell he gets better. Avis did good with the shot except for a fevor. We got the MRI results back and found out she has Avascular Necrosis in her knees. They said she might grow out of it and might not. We might have to see a bone Dr. in Denver at the Childerens Hospital. Her chemo Dr. will let us know if we have to see the bone Dr. but if she dose have to see that Dr. it won't be tell we have to go back in December. So she is on tynal 3 for pain in her knees. So if it is not one thing it is anther thing we have to go through. So we are still going through everything one day at a time. Next week she is getting a CBC done to just see if her counts went up more. She is just on chemo pills now. No more staroids because of the Avascular Necrosis in her knees.
Hannah is doing really good after getting fixed. We got her stiches out on monday and today we took her to the groomers to get really pertty. They did a really good job on her. Avis thinks she is so cute lol. I am going to try to get a pic of Avis with Hannah that is if Hannah will sit still lol.
Well I got to go for now but will keep you all up to date how Avis is doing.
