Has anyone heard of the Sugar Glider University?

If so, what do you think of them as a resource for glider care info?

Sugar Glider University was originally formed for the sole purpose of bashing a certain diet and it's "creator". Now, I cant say I dont agree with a lot of things said on there regarding the diet - there wasnt really any information usable from there.

Unless they have changed that site drastically in the past few months, I would say NO - it is not a good reference source. A lot of the information is old and outdated. There were a couple of years where this site wasnt updated at all. The only part I like about that site is the article called "Boycott These Breeders". The mills they talk about have been around forever and things never change with them.

They have expanded their mission from bashing one diet and one person to bashing many others. They have posted things from other websites completely out of context, and then exclaimed "Can you believe they recommend this!!??" It seems their sole purpose remains criticism.

Okay. That's pretty much the impression I got from them too. I found them by looking up information on common suggie sicknesses and their sight popped up.

They seemed to be pretty preoccupied with making everyone out like they are abusing their animals, so I just wondered if anyone knew about the site.

I just looked over the site's glider diet section. To be fair, it's quite informative, other than bashing BML, which many other sites do, as well, including this one in the Gliderpedia section. They bring up some good and interesting points within the general "diet" topic.

I don't think the gliderpedia bashes BML...I was looking at the page on BML last night and it mentions the rep-cal supplement having Menodine of whatever it is called in there...but that led me to believe that there is basically not enough research in that area, not that the diet was awful. I would like to see mention of more diets in there though, and how to correctly mix and make them.

The last time I saw that site, it hadn't even been updated in-literally-years.

This would be something to compare with other sites, and their information. You can draw your own conclusions that way...
I have been reading different sites, books, and posts/Gliderpedia on this site. Any questions I have, I definitely get on here and ask :o)

Yup, I see the source of my confusion. The Gliderpedia page for BML includes a link titled BML Rant. It links to an old page from Glider University which no longer works. The fact that Gliderpedia includes such a link, albeit a dead one, tells me that the folks here are concerned about making all information available, which is good, but if they strongly disagreed with it, the link probably would not be there. The current GU page on BML is quite complete and convinced me early on not to use BML.

FYI-The Gliderpedia isn't necessarily the site's view...it's like Wikipedia. You can write and edit articles. I've written two myself but anyone is free to go in and edit it if they wanted to. Because a lot of the articles are older, it just may have not ever been edited. Hope that makes sense.

Since the Gliderpedia is "live" it can be updated and corrected at anytime. That's what is so great about it!

and people that write articles are supposed to supply as many references as possible. It isn't really a place for people's opinions...more like a compilation of facts on one easy place.

Ok so I did the "glider university" course for diet today...have to say I am not impressed with it! The articles are there, sure, and make for an interesting read...but you can tell it is heavily biased, especially when reading the "test" questions. I don't think I will be feeding Skittles soley on insects and arabic gum any time soon! I will stick to my Ca:Ph ratios, thank you!
