Anyone else out there have a suggie that makes then feel guilty when they put that suggie back into the cage after some snuggle time?

Today, I had put Molly and Lula into a bonding pouch to go for a ride with me when I picked my daughter up from a friend's house. They seemed to enjoy getting out a bit, and were actually pretty attentive to looking out the pouch screen while I was driving.

I am not someone who generally has my sugar gliders with me all day, every day. I might have a couple of them with me for an hour or so in the bonding pouch, but this isn't even every day. I actually worry about disturbing their sleep! They all get out to play at night, so I don't worry about lack of bonding time.

However, when we got back home from our little outing, I went to put Lula and Molly back into their cage pouch with the rest of their colony. Lula went in very willingly. Molly was another story.

As I put Lula into the cage pouch, Molly ducked out of the bonding pouch, and went straight into my blouse. She LOVES to be in my blouse, right over my heart. I let her stay there for awhile, because she is so tame. She stays put, and we were at home anyhow.

I had to get some work done, and was concerned about her safety (I was worried I'd forget she was there and do something unsafe for her). So, I reached into my blouse to put her back in the cage pouch. I know I am probably projecting MY feelings, but I would swear that she looked at my like, "How could you?! I love you so much! All I want to do is snuggle with you! How could you reject me?!"

She very, very slowly went back into the cage pouch, but not without trying to go back into my blouse. Poor Molly!

So, I guess I have spoiled her a little. We do have a very close bond!

Anyone else get guilt trips from their gliders?

Yeah, I wish I could keep he rout all night. I let her run around in my shirt while I watch tv for about three hours and then put her back in the cage to eat. I feel bad about it. She looks at me like I am crazy. You want me to go where?

One would think after all this time I wouldn't allow them to make me feel guilty! lol! They live in huge mansions of cages, always decorated to the nines, and eat as good as my three human children do...probably better than my eighteen year old who decided to move in with friends earlier this year.

Molly's one of those girlies who would be very content to hide out in my blouse all day, everyday, coming out for dinnertime and mealies! LOL!

Oreo guilted me into giving him a tiny piece of cornbread last night (like he needed that I KNOW I really shouldn't have). He has the cutest little eyes though! The begging face I can't turn down.

I could never own a cockerspaniel. It'd be a horrible dog to be around, I already know.

@lovely1inred--I have an adorable old cocker spaniel that can give you those eyes, and the most pitiful beggin' face in the world! LOL! Those big brown eyes...it's horrible when he's cold and wants to get into bed with us at night. I have to turn away from him, or I'll be pulling that old guy up on the bed with us--and I don't like a dog in bed with us! LOL!!!

Yep, I remember those nights. It was toughest in the winter, when it was hard to get them to wake up early enough to play!

I've been out of town with my Mom, visiting an Aunt in Texas. Although, my husband took really good care and spoiled our "kids", I still got the cold shoulder. It took yoggies and popcorn, before the 5 even looked at me. Then finally, Draco decided that I was still okay and jumped right down into his "favorite" spot in my shirt. Yes, I do know about the Glider Guilt - boy, does it ever hurt.
