So there are four gliders at the nature center. One of them is fully bonded to me, and hangs out in my pocket most of the day. Since they are off display, the sugar gliders are open to sounds of all the other off exhibit animals like doves and pigeons and other loud birds. I read they would be naturally scared of them, but after so long, apparently they were used to it. My glider herd the dove chirp, and soared about ten feet onto his cage crabbing the loudest I herd her ever. The dove hasnt made a peep in about a week.

I have been reading about your story, and enjoying the fact that you have taken such an interest in them. Sugar gliders are definitely interesting critters! Once you can take them home and have tent or play time with them in the evenings, I think you'll find them even more endearing. The bond that they can form with you is nothing short of amazing to me.

I'm glad too. They sure need some interaction with someone, it adds another dimension to their lives. That's a pretty cute story! I bet that poor dove has no idea what to make of the noise ...

Ya. But now in august, I am supposed to watch a friends dove while she goes away. Now with the gliders in the house, I have no clue what to expect.

Be sure to keep them in separate rooms. The gliders may try to eat the dove.

EAT the dove, are you kidding??! Whoa. I wouldn't have thought gliders would try for something that big. Doves are bigger than cockatiels and I have two of those just about fifteen feet away from my sugar glider cage! Sheesh...ouch.
