Here is my trick. I have fry and tot trained to jump to wherever they hear a tap. My camera has a delay so I tap my chest so they can aim and when they extend their front arms I hit the button on the camera and I use a flash so it doesn't blur. They land in my hand that isn't holding the camera.

Really?? I would love to hear some more detail on how you trained them to "jump wherever they hear a tap"?
My babies didn't even learn to glide until they were with me for months, although they were rescues, and never had a much of a chance before...

Care to share? (I keep coming back to this post, just to see the pics!)

It first takes building trust. I started with short jumps and calling their name with a tap on my chest or hand that let's them know where there is a safe landing area. When they would land a jump I would praise them and pet them and sometimes at first offer a treat. Over time I would step back and make each jump a little farther and they learned to trust that I would always catch them. Fry was always a good jumper. Tot has just recently started to trust me and he is getting really good now too. Once they know they can trust that a hand will be there to catch them it becomes a fun game and they will jump over and over and over. I've gotten Fry to jump off of a 20 foot loft to me and enjoy it. Another starting point is to put them somewhere with no distractions and no other way to jump but to you but don't make it scary for them. Start off slow and close and work your way back as they get comfortable. I do educational work with them at schools and they have done amazing jumps but it has been because I have taught them to trust me and my taps to tell them where to land. They hear the tap, locate it visually and then aim for it and I move my hand to adjust so they never hit anything but my hand with alot of praise.

That is awesome, Thank You!!
The funny thing is, that's EXACTLY how I taught Sugar & Nibbs to glide, (just not really thinking about the "tap"...) but I guess I didn't follow through, and CONTINUE, because i thought "they got it, they'll do it on their own now"...

Silly me!
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain. I can't wait to practice with them again, and again, and again...

If he is that bonded to you, then YOU are the treat! Sugar is that bonded to me as well, so I had my hubby (not bonded at all!) train w/ me. He would take sugar and quickly get him up high on his hand (arm raised all the way up) and I would be next him saying "jump sugar" and tapping my chest. If sugar tried to crawl down daddy's arm, he would quickly and carefully get sugar back up high, until he just HAD to be with Mommy. Then he'd jump. Keep doing it over and over. He'll get it! "If I jump, I get to be w/ Mommy!! "

Once he gets it, start to move back a little at a time. At first it will just be a jump, but as you get further away, he'll start to glide. Make sure you see him trying to use his potagium, before you get too far away. We started by David being next to the bed, and I was sitting on the bed. This way, when Sugar fell, it would be a comfy landing!

caution: the first time will take a long time for him to come to you. But once he does, KEEP doing it over and over, because that's when he finally "got it". You could also use mealies to entice him to come to you, if all else fails.
