Hey everyone! I keep seeing people posting about having gatherings for one thing or another for suggies, and i must say i'm rather dissapointed!!! It seems its only taking place in texas! What the hell people!!! LoL...I would love to learn how to sew some things for my suggies, and just get together with other people who share the suggie love! I dont know anyone who owns suggies around here and would like to meet some people....plus i'm new to the area, and what people are better to meet than suggie fans!! So if you'd like to get together and you live in maryland, somewhere near the towson baltimore area then let me know!! I dont believe many of you guys are from around this part of town tho but we'll see!!

I'm in Delaware and I would love to meet up with fellow suggie lovers! Let me know if you want to colaborate on anything!

Ooh Ooh MEEEEEE! I'm in DC Metro area (Northern Virginia). I can definitely collaborate, plan, or even host the thing. If nothing else, I'd definitely want to come and contribute!

ohhhh...I'm so excited....Well like I said i live in towson in balt. county. I would be more than happy to host, but everyone just needs to understand I live in an efficency, so theres like no room well actually theres one room, and thats it...lol.. As long as no one minds that then i8 would love to host. BUt i dont want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Also I dont have a car right now (mine was stolen thanks balt. city!!!) so I cant really travel far...unless I can borrow my friends car, but i'd rather have it around here so i dont have to do that....but i'll have food and everything if you guys wanna do it at my place.... :) I'm sorta new with this whole glider thing..i got mine in july....but is it safe for us to bring our gliders with us? or would that be a bad idea? I'm not sure how that would work...i think it would be fun for a play date for them, while we do what we wanna do...but being as tho they are wild animals and what not...it might not go over the way i'm imagining it too...lol...

I have a six acre farm, and I'm sure my parents would not mind me hosting something here! Of course its in Delaware so its probably about an hour and a half away from each of you, but if you want the land I've got it!

yeh. I just dont kno if i can get there is the only problem. Would it bad for each of us to bring our gliders? Like cuz theyd smell each other and what not....

Yay finally one around me! I live in Virginia Beach, VA and I'd love to come, or even host (if everyone wants to drive that far!). I have a pretty weird work schedule though, so if it works out I'll be there! And about bringing the suggies, I don't think it would be a good idea. There could be a sick one amongst the bunch and he/she could spread it to all the healthy ones. . I wouldn't want to take a chance with my babies.

wow this is awesome...it didnt think so many people were around me...well i cant host this many people cuz my place isnt big enough at all...:(
so if someone else will host it i'll help with food and stuff the best I can since it was my suggestion to do it...If someone right around here would help host it that would be so so awesome, cuz i dont think i'd be ale to go to delaware or anywhere that far....:( it sux when you dont have ur own car:(

Yeah sorry about the distance, but if you guys did want the land, I would be more then happy to host, but yes it would be awesome to meet and atleast talk! Perhaps those who live within 1/2 or an 1 hour could all meet for dinner someplace in the least case scenario to share glider stories (and pictures!). If someone else wants to host, I would be more than happy to help out with snacks and drinks!

I started planning one for our area back in the summer, but things got to crazy to pursue it. SO... LETS GO FOR IT!!
I am a breeder of almost 8 yrs and have a lot of customers in the area, that would love to attend.
Thom from OutbackGliders, has voluntered to host. That is perfect! Catonsville is very close to Balt., Glen Burnie, Towson and real close to Frederick. He is 'right' off the beltway, so VERY quick & easy to find. With Catonsville being centrally located.. and he has the room... for all of us, since we will need a lot of room for vendors to set up their tables. Not to mention room for door prizes and other gifts we all donate for games & such.
Remember, we need it to be in the best location so we will get a lot of suggie slaves to come! The more that come, the more fun it is the more toys, cage sets etc. is donated. And, the more we learn from each other.
Maybe we could get him to share his secret in his bonding technics, as one of the guest speakers.
Everyone usually hitches rides with others. Some ppl will come alot farther away and meet up and share motel rooms.
So, Skittlesandpeanut, we will see that you get a ride if you still don't have a car.
And Filly47, I have a couple of customers in Delaware that I know would love to give come. Meeting up before the Gathering, is almost as much fun as the Gathering, itself.
So I vote for having Thom host it. (besides, we will all get to see his WFB's, Leucistics & Moasics)!!!

Gliderivasion (hilarious name by the way! tehe!) I would love to connect with some fellow glider owners in Delaware, and would so be willing to drive a carpool to the event! I'm a recent college graduate, so I don't have uber amounts of money, but I would be more than happy to help out in any way possible! I can also ask some petstores around here if they could donate some toys and the like for the event!

Alright sounds great...and honestly it sounds better that he does it, b.c i was just planning something small and like having storys and pictures, and advice and what not...I couldnt possible provide all that at my house, nor could I afford to provide everything you are talking about...I"m on disability (due to a work related injury...) so my income is pretty shabby at the time, but I will help as best as I can with whatever....Like I said I was planning on providing food and what not, but I figured it would be no more than like 5 or 10 people, so providing food and beverages for that amount is alittle easier for me than providing it for uhhh...the whole glider community in and around maryland...lol....And I can def. help set up and all that stuff....and I can help oraginze things with you...I was really hoping to host it, but its much better i sit back and watch since I've never been to one before and I'm new to all this...
Well i'm super psyched....now we just gotta pick a date...I'm pretty flexable so whatever really...

Aww your all so lucky! I live in the UK (so a bit far for me lol) suggies arn't really that common in the UK. When I first got them I was calling round vets to see where I could take them and out of 5 vets in my city 4 of them asked me what sugar gliders where!! I couldn't belive it lol Hope you enjoy your party! Post pics up :D
