Wow I Guess Im a few days late Were from baltimore and have 2glidders- 9mns &1year old. we have a friend in randeltown with 2 glidders also. WE would love to participate .With all the responce maybe we need to get a couple different groups. My wife and I love our glidders and keep them with us all day have even taken them on vacation. we bought them from Lisa at suncoast we drove to florida to pick them up. mine is a lusistic with the white face my wifes is a grey.Please let us know if there is anything we can do would love to meet you all.Check out our Pics

I was thinking if everyone brought a dish or something, it would be fun. This is great guys! I started one of these in SC (we call it the SSS "Sari's Suggie Social") and it was such a great success! And I was kinda new when I started it too...

I would love to donate a toy, so you guys can raffle it off, and make some money either towards the event costs, or you could pick a foundation to support... at the SSS we did lots of auctions (some were boxes filled w/ suggie stuff, some were cage sets, pouches, toys, etc) and then 50% of everything rasied went to a local suggie rescue group, and 50% went to the host/hostess for food, etc. (bills were avaialable for those that were interested, so they knew where the money went)...

Hope this helps! Let me know when your having it, and where, and I'll send a cool toy from my store as a donation!

Oh, and hint hint... you could ask other vendors to donate stuff too, if you decide to donate to a local organization! ;)

I am really upset that this whole thing was my idea and i cant host it anymore :( but at least lots of people wanna do it...I can help out however is needed, but money is tight so i cant give to much in the way of money. But i would to have a toy exchange. Everyone who wants to do it just brings a toy wrapped up within a certain price range, and we can play a game or something to win. Everyone would win a suggie toy tho. We could do like musical suggies (musical chairs) lol. I'm dumb. haha. BUt no, like i love those dumb games, they are fun, and its nice to regress back to childhood sometimes. I think it would be a cute idea. what do you guys think. And only the ones who wanna bring a toy to trade and who wanna play those games....pin the tail on the suggie...hehe....would be doing it. that way if someone doesnt have money to put in for a toy or just thinks its to dsumb and they are to mature for it then they dont have to play, they can do something else, while all the kewl kids play. LMAO!!!

We did a "fleece exchange" and that was a lot of fun too. Each person brought 2 yards... one yard of something cute/classic/wild/etc. and one coordinating solid.

We laid them out on a table in pairs, then everyone got to pick a number out of a hat. Starting from number one, you got to go and pick your favorite set from the group, and so on.

You can even do it like a "dirty santa" where you can go pick the one you want, then number two gets to either pick the one they want, or "steal" the set you chose, then you get to pick a different one from the table.

yeh that sounds fun...i love lil games like that...lol.....i live in towson, so i'm not really that far...I have a car sometimes on the weekands, i just have to make sure i have it when we do the party....When I said I couldnt do it if it was to far i meant like in delawear or oc or something like that...lol...but thanks a bunch for the offer!!!

Thom, from OUTBACK GLIDERS, (in Catonsville), said he would host it. Tinkerbellsmom & I will help him.

A glider gathering doesn't just happen over night. We have been talking @ having small gatherings, to make plans.
But, with the economy as it is, I'm kind of scared to have it to close to Christmas. (don't forget, some ppl still have to purchase for their 2 legged kids). How do you guys feel about it?

We also would like to help support The Mill Breeding Project, with a raffel. When date is decided, we will need to get the word out so ppl can start sending in their donations. (toys, pouches, cage sets, wheels, cash or anything glider related. This also will help decide whether we have goodybags,and/or door prize/s, etc.
AND, I will need time to bag/box them up once we get everything in.

Everyone can start contacting the vendors they know, for donations. The more we have to raffel off, the more fun of getting new & different things, and the more money we can give for the cause!!
We also will need to know how many vendore will be attending & how much space they each will need. (after all, we each, will need to purchase a new....SOMETHING)! OOOHHH!! SUGGIE SHOPPING!!!!

We also need to get a list of attendees. Anyone good at making a webpage that will safice the need?
(Seems there are more than just a few that want a gathering).

We also plan on having a guest speaker/s, to help educate, as we all can learn about suggies since there is no such thing as an 'expert' on suggies. But want "seasoned" glider owners to give advice/demonstrations. And they will need to schedule our event into their calendar as well.

So it is in the works, but at my age...'the WORKS', just WORKS alot slower these days! lol
So start sewing... or, making/getting together toys & such for raffel, door prizes or goody bags. And start sending your ideas to either me or THOM.

I'd like for us to be able to send in a healthy donation to the Mill Breeding Project (They are big on getting the word out on PPP) and in shutting the Glider Mills down for good! With that being done, less need for SO many rescues.
It's a lot of planning & a lot of work just to have a 'quickie' and not many able to attend. (Also, OHIO gathering is this week). Waiting for Tinkerbellsmom to return with fresh ideas from there.
So what do you guys think about having a local 'Planning Party' to get the ball rolling?.
We have a few slaves that have been meeting at StarBucks on Friday mornings. But would change it to Sat. morning, if some of you want to meet & help.
Let me know how you can help & we'll start a list of who does what.

can i offer an idea.....the type of gathering i was talking about in the begaining was just something simple, sweet, and cozy. Like a little suggie party with maybe a few games and stuff if people can afford it. Anfd i think that sounds nice and qaint. Now it shouldnt take forever to plan for that, ya kno. But i also think it would be AWESOME to have a big thing like glider invasio is talking aboit, but thats alot of planning and time and more moeny than i have. I have time, and stuff...but not the moeny. So what if we just do both of them...and we can do the simple one before x-mas, just as friends getting together to share our knowledge on gliders, learning new things, and showing how to make different toys and what not. ANd then do glider invasions thing later on a few months down the road since hes thing is gonna take ALOT of time planning and stuff. That way the people that cant afford his and still go to ours...well....urs ani15174eva since i'm not really hosting it, lol...so what do you guys think about that? We'll just do two. Cuz they are both 2 totally different type things. ONes more a function, and the others just a gathering....

Okay these souns like awsome Ideas and Skittles it is our gathering, since you started the post. And no one is stepping on anyones toes. I think two accually does sound good. because like Skittles said one is a smaller type gathering deal where another is on a much larger scale. No gripes or grumbles lol let me know you guys think.
