You need to wait at least 12 weeks before he is ready to be separated, and I doubt the Mom will be depressed, as long as she has another companion.

I was told 8 weeks, from when he is off the nipple. But i dunno really if thst true just ive seen that just about every where i look i havent really looked to see if he is eating normal food yet or if he is still nursing. He was before but wasnt on it all day. i hope i started counting it rite. i counted from when i seen the baby detached from the nipple for the first time, and would nurse here and there i dont know if he still does , he'll be out in the cage with mom and dad wondering around by him self and trying to find his way back. I just wanna not screw up things.

Most people say 8 weeks to being weaned, but leave them with mom and dad for 12 weeks, because mom and dad continue to teach them life skills. Which I think makes sense also I would rather be safe than sorry.

Like our2girlz has said. It's better to wait 12 weeks since mom and dad are still teaching the baby life skills. From Sept 16, 12 weeks makes him ready December 9th.

If you cannot afford to have 3 gliders then you need to get DADDY neutered right away before they have another joey (or joeys) It may already be too late and there may be more on the way. You will continue having to deal with finding homes for the babies if you do not have him neutered.

Yes please get dad neutered there are already so many unwanted gliders in need of forever homes.

Seriously, there is not much cost difference between two and three. Neuter Dad and keep the family together.

I went from two to four and don't notice any extra costs other than their vet visits.

Edited to add: If you are cutting it that close financially, will you be prepared if there is an emergency with your existing pair?
