So their new cage came in.. finally! It's not the biggest in the world, but the best I could do for now. It's about 4 1/2 feet tall 3 1/2 feet wide and 1 1/2 feet deep. It's a total mansion compared to what they were sold to me in. I was so excited when I got it all put together. It has like 15 doors, 3 big the rest smallish. Then I got all sad because I didn't have enough stuff to fill it! Haha. So they were going nuts in it last night. It was also their first night of playing with the barrel of monkey toys. They were all on the floor this morning. Which is what I expected and hoped for. I put shelves in because the babies aren't gliding yet.. they're not even jumping really so I was afraid of them falling. Lessa and George seem to like the shelves though, and have no problem gliding and jumping on and to them. They really like to hang upside down from the bottom of the shelves just hanging on with their feet. When I got up this morning though, their pouch was on the ground! They had fallen almost 3 feet. I ran to the cage to make sure everyone was okay. They seem to be but I'll keep a super close eye on everyone tonight to make sure they're all playing like normal.

This is how big their cage is compared to me. [Nope, I'm not very big and no I'm not 15. I'm 21 and not getting any bigger thank you very much.]

Their cage all set up.

All four having fun. My gliders don't seem to have any problem with the floor of their cage. In the small one or this one.

Looks like a great cage! My glider's went crazy when I put them in their new cage. Their old one was about 2 feet tall, and their new ones 6 feet! Also I know what you mean about being short :) Welcome to the club.

haha yay for new cages! I bet they love it! Its soo big.
I have a question though. Are you both keeping your old cages for a just in case scenerio? Or would you be willing to sell them. I have a cage and its very large, five feet. My joeys are going to only be 13 weeks when i get them and I wanted to start them out in a smaller cage. I cant seem to find any that arent either hamster size (too small) or just a rabbit cage that wont due bc its too short. Ive checked on ebay and craigslist. Im sure I will eventually find one if you two are keeping yours. Just wanted to see after I read this forum.
ps. your gliders are adorable :)

arn26, why do you want to start out with a small cage? You should go ahead and get the larger cage now as gliders dont stay babies very long. They usually reach adult size by around 4 months OOP.

fadedrainbows - that cage is perfect size! Im sure they are going to love running, jumping and gliding! Plenty of room for lots of toys, too! The one and only thing I see are the guillotine type doors. Be sure to zip tie all the smaller ones down so no gliders are injured - they can figure out how to raise them.

And like mollysmom said - Cage Sets!!!! Lots and lots of cage sets!!! Heck, I dont even sew and I buy fleece like a crazy woman! One of these days, Ill send them to someone to have some custom things made.

Be sure to tie or clip each and every one of the doors closed. Gliders can and will slide them open and escape.

The cage actually came with zip ties. =] Wasn't that nice of them? So all the doors I won't be using regularly are zip tied shut until I can get some clips. Arn26: I am keeping mine as a just in case scenario. But my babies are only about 7-8 weeks old and they love the big cage. So I wouldn't be too worried. I know just how you feel though. That's why I put some of those shelves in.

That is a decent budget cage. I recommend installing a small mesh plastic on top of the floor so it is easier on their feet. It is really easy to hang some tree branches to climb on and you might consider some shelves made out of fence pickets.
