I know how you feel. I wanted a glider for over a year and my mom wouldn't let me have it even though my dad didn't have a problem with it. She finally said yes and I got my glider. My mom never even looks at him and so I ended up getting him a friend and my mom didn't even notice for 8 months that I had 2 gliders.  Asked your parents why they don't want another glider. Then you can come up with an point to confront there doubts.

UPDATE!!:
On my way to school this morning, my dad asked me this morning: "Gizmo's barking at night, isn't he?"
"Yes." I said
"Even if you play with him for a long time"
"Yes dad, he's trying to communicate and he's lonely."
(and even though he knew that, I just said that) And he said. "hm" LOL
So I came home today and asked my mom if she talked to him yet about Luna (the female I want to get for Gizmo) and she said
"yes"
SCORE!!!!!!!!!! LOL
So hopefully she'll talk to him more about it and they'll maybe let me get a girl!!! WOOO

You sound like an awesome kid. I think I'd have a hard time saying no to all of the reasons you're giving them, if I were your parent!

k Well, I went into my parents room downstairs, and he was about to close his eyes, you could tell he was tired. LOL So I just went up to him and said random stuff (like taking my medicine, telling him that I just fed Gizmo) and then turned away to leave. But I turned back and went back up to him and just asked him "What are your concerns dad, about getting another glider?"
and he said (LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAID!!) "It's a hassle"
?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
LOL I told him all about it not being much more of a hassle than just having one. I told him that it wouldn't be much more of a hassle than it was getting Gizmo. I told him that yes, we'd need to do a 30 day quarentine (SP?) thing with her and take her to the vet to make sure she is healthy, then after 30 days start slowly introducing them to eachother, etc. I told him that it'd just require a little more veggies, HPW and fruit each night, etc etc. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT GIZMO WILL BE HAPPY!! (I didn't yell that I just put that in CAPS becuase that was the most important thing!  )
And I could tell he was persuaded. He said (in a good tone) "Ok, ok, well talk about it tomorrow. I'm very tired. But yes, I will thing about it."
and I'm like "OK!! Think about it!!"
and he was like "mhmm"

Good job. Dis you mention that you are going to take care of all the "hassles" not him? Sounds like he is breaking. Fingers still crossed.

NO! dang it. But I will tomorrow. And I'm also going to tell him that I'd be paying for everything! The buying of the glider, vet check up, etc.

You are such a super kid. I'm very proud of you too. I can see this whole glider community is behind you. It is very important that you let them know it will be no hassle to them. That you can do it all. I'm sure you've already proven to them that you can care for Gizmo. Good Luck tomorrow/today and I'll be praying for you and Gizmo.

So I'm guessing you found another glider, Luna. Will you get her for a nice price. Can you talk with her owners. I don't know how much you are paying for her, but if you let them know that you are still working on it they won't sell her out from under you. Also just maybe they would drop the price if dad thinks she is to pricey. You never know. Good luck. Just keep Luna's owners in the loop.

My mom said that "this wasn't the plan" to get 2. She was mad that people on "the internet" didn't tell us we needed to get two when we got Gizmo....

My parents are the same exact way.I dont mind it that bad though.My mom is going to let me get another one if I can pay for it,so dont give up....but dont be pushy about it either.

Unfortunately this happens a lot. It is a good way to sale the suggies if you only have to have one. I only had one to start than found this site and found out they needed a friend. The fact that they are colony animals made perfect sense to me that there should be more than one.

ah the whole hassle thing is what my dad claimed to howevor i read him stories of people with two suggies off of here and i explained it really wasn't any different than having one.. well now we have three haha and for him it is no different except yesterday he was like... your suggies are gonna eat us out of house and home lol.. he was joking... i think
