There's so many posts about people not getting along with their glider's at first. Them biting them, crabbing at them, and just not wanting to be around their new owners. Everyone say's it's "just part of the bonding process, it takes some time for them to adjust to you."

However, when I got my two rescue glider's I guess we just kind of skipped the bonding process... I've never EVER been crabbed at! (I know, this sounds hard to believe, but the only crabbing going on at my house is between my two glider's!) And i've never really been bit, Just very VERY lightly nibbled on!

So my point is, is that my glider's just seemed to... Already kind of know me when I got them? They just acted like they'd known me since birth. I was actually very nervous when I got my glider's, because even though I had done TONS of research, I had never actually held a glider before.

So my main question is: Are there other glider's out there like mine

Wavern only took a few days to warm up to me and Vestral warmed up to me after the first day. So yeah we never really had a problem either!

The reason your gliders have done so well with you is because they came to you already well adjusted with no trust issues. Someone obviously spent some time with them and that's not always the case. More often than not, we wind up with gliders with issues that have to be slowly and patiently overcome. You were very blessed to have gotten two little sweeties straight out of the gate.

Yes, it definitely happens. One of mine, Kiki, has still, to this day never once made a peep at me or so much as nibbled on me even. When she was pregnant she let me check her belly and when her joey was born, she made me the babysitter pretty quickly. After close to 3 years, I'm still the only one she'll go to or trust for some reason. All of the others will go to my whole family.

They all have different personalities. I won't say the 2 girls we first got never bit or crabbed, but they came around very, very fast.

Yep, the little critters are just like people... no two alike! HAHA
Sugar and Nibbles are both rescues, and NEVER crabbed when I got them. Sugar was my best friend from the very first time I held him. Nibbles has always loved me, never crabbed, but DOES live by his name "NIBBLES". He bites!

When I got my first Joey girl, she always crabbed, and took a bit to warm up, and she came from a GREAT breeder, and was always handled. Go figure?!

My first glider, Tilly, came from Custom Cage Works and was surprisingly pretty tame from the start. She is a very laid back glider and in the 3 1/2 years Ive had her, Ive never heard her crab once. And she has never bitten me.

Tosca was from a breeder in St Louis and she crabbed and lunged at me thru her pouch ALL THE WAY HOME. She was beside herself and cried for days. It was heartbreaking that I couldnt let her know I was not going to harm her. She did finally come to that conclusion and she hasnt crabbed or bit me in a couple of years either. She will crab at the other gliders if they disturb her.

Weasel - well, you have all heard about my little stinker, Weasel. She was not treated well with her previous owner and she bit for blood every chance she got. She no longer does that and allows me to pet her, She climbs on me and sometimes grooms me. But let me tell you, she is the QUEEN OF CRAB to this day. (Ive had her over 2 years) She crabs about everything! She is just a crabby little glider. I love her feisty little personality. She just wants her way all the time. And - she came to me with a huge trunk load of issues. Bless her heart. Im surprised she is as tame as she is. (and she isnt all that tame!)

Benji came to me a little over a year ago. Sweetest little guy ever. Ive never heard him crab either. He will give me a little nip every now and then when I pick him up - but nothing serious. He is a sweetheard. His previous owner really spent a lot of time with him so he came with no issues.

Well Dexter only crabbed at me the first time I tried to handle him even though I was careful. After that he never did. I couldn't really grab him at first but now he lets me if I can get his nails to come off of whatever they get stuck on. lol. I've been bitten only a few times when I'm giving him a treat so I'm sure he just mistakes me for food. So yeah I get what you mean. Although I don't really think he's fully bonded to me. I want that type of relationship that I've heard of that sugar gliders will never leave you and basically are obsessed with you.

You are just so lucky. Tazz is such a crabby pants and he is probably gonna take forever to bond with!

I'm glad you bonded so quick with your little guy, wish me luck with mine!

Yeap, that can happen. The first day I got mine I kept them down my shirt all day long. No biting or crabbing and still no biting or crabbing from Maverick and Dakota. When Charlier and Viper were younger they did crab at time when I would mess with them, but once they new who it was and what was going on nothing. I haven't heard them crab in a couple of months now.
