Does anyone have a favorite water bottle they recommend? I just bought two different kinds and am not happy with either. It's too hard to get the water to come out! I tried searching through old threads to find an answer but I only found posts about needing to have extra water bottles on hand.

Thanks in advance for any replies and suggestions!

Have u tried rabbit water bottels, my bunnys hated them so i have a million unused ones so i gave one to my suggie. it has a little sea turtle that floats at he top so u can tell where the water line is. Im very happy with ithe learned how to use it in a minute or two of seeing it in his cage

I like the cheap dual ball bearing style 8 ounce or so found at most any pet place. I have found that anything larger or with a spring in it is too hard to activate and suggies dry out. It needs to be very easy to get water going. Larger ferret and rabbit bottles just wont cut it, so hang two or three of the smaller ones and you are good to go.

I'd like to hear what others say works for them.

I actually have the same as you Kazko. They seem to work real well. I do remember other members mentioning how much they like the lixit though.

I use a small water bottle and a water silo. The silo is found in the bird aisle at Petsmart.

I have the simple Pet-co brand water bottles, but I've found they start to leak quite fast, and have to be replaced often. (However, this is common with most water bottles!)

When I was first teaching my glider's to use a bottle I put 2 oz. 100% apple juice in their 8oz. bottle, and this really incouraged them to drinmk from it!

Also, as Kazko said, some bottles are to hard to drink from, and the glider's just choose not to drink. AVOID THOSE BOTTLES!

I use these Lixit Bottles - found in the bird section. This is a 5 oz bottle and it has a plastic bracket that connects to the cage wires so a nub on the side of the bottle slips into the bracket and holds it securely.

I have two on each cage.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Candy, I like your bottles. I just got home from the pet store and bought the same brand, but it doesn't attach like that at all! I want to return the one I bought and get that one. Which pet store did you find those in? We have Southern Ag, Petsmart, and Petco here.

The bottles shown in the photos are plastic. I have used them for my parakeets for about 5 years with no problems or leaks.

I got them at PetCo in the bird department. I have seen them in other pet stores as well.

I have glass ones but I'm not home and can't remember what brand they are. I am pretty sure I got them at Petsmart. They have little yellow duckies in them that float so you can easily keep an eye on the water level.
