Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I've posted this on other forums, but this is basically a quick recap.

This is a bit long, so bear with me.

There's a girl in my English class that heard that I have sugar gliders. She asked me how many I have, then asked if I'd want another one, because she has one and "doesn't really take care of it." (That's exactly what she said.) :(

So, I told her that I would love to, but I'd have to see if it was okay with my mom first. After some convincing and tugging on heart strings, she agreed. When I told her that my mom said it was okay, I made it clear that I couldn't pay a rehoming fee, and she said that it was fine. I also told her that I already have an extra cage and everything, so I'm not sure if she'll be giving me that too or keeping it and selling it.

At first, I didn't even know if the glider was male or female, but I did know that 'it' was single. 'It' turned out to be a female named Sugar, who had a mate, but they got rid of him because they were having too many joeys. I imagine this little girl is stressed and possibly depressed.

On Friday, I gave the girl my number so that she could text me, because she had to see if it was okay with her mom to "just get rid of the thing." All weekend I waited for her to text me saying whether or not it was okay with her mom. I never heard from her.

All day today, that's all I could think about. (Except for in Algebra. There's no room for anything else to think about in that class!) Of course, I only see her in my LAST hour, so each class period dragged out forever. When I saw her, she told me that she forgot to ask her mom! How do you forget about something like that???

So, I'm willing to assume that this little girl hardly sees people and will be petrified of everything and everyone when and if she gets here, that she's possibly on a bad diet, and will most likely be stressed/depressed due to the fact that she was separated from her mate.

If I do get her, which I hope I do, because I want to get this baby OUT of this situation, I want to name her Kamunyak, which means "the blessed one" in Samburu.

Sad! This girl is obviously not very responsible! If I were here mom I'd never let her have another pet! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she remembers to ask this time and her mom says yes!

Oh I hope you get her soon. If this girl forgets to ask her mom I bet she forgets to feed her too. Don't you think that would strike her memory when she went to feed her? Good luck to you and this sweet baby.

I'll be sure to keep you all updated. Yeah, the reason I figure she forgot to ask her mom is because nobody looks at her. Poor baby. I'm wondering who feeds her? Surely she doesn't go the entire weekends or longer without food.... Maybe Petsmart pellets so that they just fill a bowl and call it good. :(

Well, talked to her again today. She said that she asked her mom and that they have to talk about it and that her mom might say no. I'm HOPING she doesn't say no - but there's nothing I can do if she does....

So, keep this little girl in your prayers and hope that I can get her out of there!

This waiting game is pushing my patience.

SHE was the one who asked ME if I could take her. I had an answer for her the VERY NEXT DAY, and it took a few tries to fully convince my mom. It's now day SIX and she doesn't have an answer from her mom for me yet. I have everything ready, including the carrier in my car waiting for her to give the word for me to go get her.

I'm not going to give up on Sugar, but being left in the dark like this is making me crazy.

I sure hope you get her, this poor little girl sounds like she needs a good home and some TLC from someone who won't forget her
